We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The campsites have pretty views of the mountains and each site has a nice covered patio with picnic table. The spring-fed pool was the main attraction for us to visit and we loved it. I was glad the weather was hot while we were there because the pool water is cold...

Can't wait to cone back and swim. Beautiful drive from Balmorhea to Ft Davis. Water here was crystal clear. If you come in the summer be prepared for a very busy place. They do gave a few campsites and a few cabins.

We have heard of this natural spring fed pool for years, but had to see it for ourselves. We will be back with suits to enjoy this moderate temperature spring fed HUGE pool just outside of Balmorhea Texas. The surrounding park area is lovely, the drive down was beautiful, and the pool is HUGE......The temp is around 74 degrees year...

My wife and I stopped in for a couple of hours as part of a road trip. Definitely worth the stop if your a swimmer. There is also a yard art store just outside the park that deserves a stop. Water was clear and cold as expected. Not too may people but it was after Labor Day. If you want...

This is a great park to visit during the week, cool water and not to crowded. The water was clear i was able to see the bottom etc. The pool was listed at 25' deep. It was very relaxing. I was able to get there early and get a table. If not take your sunshade and lawnchairs.

Our family visited the park in early April and it was amazing. The spring was turned into a swimming pool by the WPA in the '30s, but its not your average pool. It is an artesian spring from which 15 million gallons of water flow each day assuring the water is clean. Its most interesting feature is that it is...

Great State Park campground that accommodates big rigs. We were in a 40 foot motorhome towing a car and easily fit in the pull through site. Some of the turns are tight. If I were there again I would definitely disconnect the car before entering the campground. Pros: beautiful views Quiet campground with dark skies Accommodates big rigs Wonderful swimming...

The accommodation was a two room unit with a stream and trees outside the front door. Fairly basic but comfortable, spacious and clean. Had owls calling outside our room in the evening. Excellent Mexican restaurant in town. Really enjoyed our stay at Balmorhea and far better than our stay at Fort Davis Inn the following night.

We had a wonderful time but walking in the pool was a bit precarious since it was so slippery. My grandchildren loved swimming with the fish. I think it would be even better if you provided stairs from the picnic area to the pool and more tables. We would definitely recommend this oasis to anyone.

My first visit and a nice place to spend some family time, snorkel, swim or even dive training. Make sure you wear foot wear, bring food and beverage, no food service. Wish the place would use some of the water on the grass and landscape.

Thank Mark G

“Did I mention the rooms are rustic? I stayed in one of the end rooms -- there are only two? -- that are apparently a long ways from the hot water heater. I wound up showering in the bath house to get hot water (I was never able to get hot water in the shower of the room).”

“Arrive early - around 2 p.m., to have the best choice in campsites based on what you're willing to pay for. It fills up as evening approaches on a Friday. All but the north side sites have great views.”
