Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are no microwaves or fridgarators in the rooms. The door isn't secure and the front desk guys are total dough bags. The owner is a junkie that dosent even try to hid it. There's hoes and dope everywhere and the cops damn near live here

The first room they gave me smelled like an animal died so we swapped rooms. The second room had black mold growing in the bathroom and the ac unit sounds like a semi truck. I understand you get what you paid for but sticky floors, black mold and racing streaks in the toilet was not what I was wanting to experience. Customer service was good. Just wish they would clean up a bit.

This place was filthy and scary. It smelled horrible. It had a broken toilet lid, tub drain with red/white repair, smear of mysterious brown streak on picture, peeling off paint on doors, green algae in pool, rusted toilet paper holder, filthy walls and baseboards, etc. I had reserved this for 3 nights online but I just couldn't stay the last 2 nights. The first night I was so tired by the time I arrived that I didn't have the energy to go somewhere else. The staff was nice and did refund me the days I didn't stay. I hope they clean this place up soon.

We have consistently stayed in several hotels/motels over the last 2 1/2 months. Red Roof Inn has consistently been a good choice for us. The location in Plano was a pleasant surprise though so I am doing a full in-depth review. 😀 The staff is super nice and that is big deal to me. Check in was a breeze yesterday after noon. I had the pleasure of meeting John (the manager) this morning when I went to get my coffee and extend my reservation for another night. He was very upbeat when he greeted us and sincere when inquiring about our stay and if we needed anything. We needed an extra towel and an extra bar of soap. John was quick to help us fill our request. The rooms are nice and smelled clean and fresh. Our king room is spacious with plenty of elbow room. The bed is super comfy (a tummy and side sleepers dream). The pillows are just the right amount of soft yet still full and supportive. Everything worked in the room. Nice size flat screen TV with excellent reception and a lot of channels. The set-up of the buildings/rooms really cuts down on the traffic noise from 75 (central expressway). The extended stay guests that we met were friendly and told us that after 10pm it was pretty quiet and it truly was - even for a Friday night. This location is pet friendly. The outdoor areas are clean and clear of doggie waste. Denny’s is right next store. Several other places are within walking distance. Racetrac gas station is a 2 min. drive/10 min. walk down the side street (Central Pkwy E) rather than down the service road. It was nice and I felt safe walking my dog by myself. John and his staff take good care of the guests and the property. I definitely recommend this place.

I needed a place just to relax a couple of hours, food was close by, the location to the highway was great.I would stay again, easy check in and easy checkout. Would have liked another table in the room to use.

My daughter and I were passing through at 1 am. I was nodding off driving so I decided I needed to rest. Pulled this cheap motel up on Travelocity and it seemed ok. Check in was fine. Room smelled like smoke, The smoke detector had a low battery and it was chirping all night. I woke up in the morning and went to take a shower and discovered there was no hot water. I was in a hurry so I sucked it up and took a cold shower it was definitely refreshing ha ha. The manager did nothing to compensate me for those issues. The only plus was the beds seemed to be clean. Last resort hotel, it’s pretty shady and I would definitely be armed if you stayed there. I would definitely pay the 10 or $20 more for a better hotel.

I arrived at about 11 pm with family. I checked in the hotel. The outside was a little dingy but it was ok. My wife pulled back the sheets on the bed & the sheets had BLOOD stains !!!! I immediately went downstairs & told the manager. He was nonchalant about the situation. I do admit I was not very nice about it but REALLY....Blood ?!? So he put us in another room that must of been the room they use for websites. No fridge nor microwave but it was more up to date. Needless to say I will NEVER stay at the location ever again !!! Housekeeping apparently does NOT do their job ! Yuck !

My son and I frequently stay at this Red Roof while looking for an apartment. The staff are always friendly, the rooms are very comfortable, and they are spacious. It is close to a lot of places to shop and is by a few restaurants. It shares a parking lot with Denny's! We have stayed at a few hotels in the area and this one has the quietest neighbors. Occasionally someone is a little loud, but it gets taken care of quickly. As for amenities, they have a very nice pool, laundry room, vending machines, a microwave in the lobby, ice machines, and coffee in the lobby. I would definitely recommend this place.

I have a disabled adult daughter who recently stayed at this property for several days in a room I paid for. She is not always easy to deal with. I want to commend the hotel manager John and his team for their kindness and professionalism is helping her (and me). I am very pleased with the outcome of this stay at the Red Roof Inn Plano.

My fiance and I have been staying at Red Roof Inn Plano off and on this past month. Brandie is always so courteous and helpful. She finds us the best room at the best rate and answers all of our questions. She is friendly and makes sure that we have everything we need. You can always see her throughout the hotel grounds connecting with the guests and checking the property to make sure that everything is in shape. She is amazing!!! Sincerely, Sara Hall
