We came to town for a wedding. Both of us travel a lot for work so we see all kinds of places. We Booked here because of the location. I wish I would have stayed elsewhere. Location is great but that's where it ends. The place is old and needs a complete renovation. I really appreciate architecture but we are...

My husband and I decided to do a staycation. My husband choose this hotel on his own, because it was closest to old Downtown New Braunfels. Well the staff was very nice..... The hotel is older it could use a better update there was a hole in the carpet in our room where they made a repair to the wall...

Old historical hotel just off the downtown courthouse square is a neat place. The Faust Wellington was a good choice for a light dinner... We only saw the rooms on a tour of the hotel.. Note the old pictures in the lobby.

The hotel has an excellent location and is walking distance to everything in downtown New Braunfels. The attached brewery/restaurant is excellent. The free continental breakfast in the lobby is good, but I think 10:30 is too early to shut it down on weekends. Due to the age of the hotel, the rooms and bathrooms are small, but they are manageable....

This hotel is very old which does give it some charm. It also makes you feel like you're in a horror movie. It also uses this as an excuse for everything to be outdated in your rooms. The lighting throughout the entire hotel is horrible, adding to the creepy effect. It's also the most haunted hotel in New Braunfels so...

Property was well kept. At evening check in, front desk clerk was very nice and helpful but the next day front desk people were not as friendly. Rooms were old but clean with a touch of modern. The attached pub was mostly regulars and somewhat noisy for an older hotel/pub/restaurant and the food was ok. I enjoyed sitting on their...

It's old but it is interesting. The single roooms are small and the restrooms are also small but for a couple it works fine. My husband and I stayed there on our Anniversary trip. I was especially interested in staying there since I had heard it was haunted. I failed to tell my husband this since he is not into...

I stayed here over the weekend and I have to say a couple of things. The staff could not be friendlier! Really, great! Rooms are small, it is a historic hotel but not as nice as some of the others I have stayed at. The hotel restaurant/bar had good food but they did not deliver to your room, so I...

Extremely small room. Old and not updated. No view of anything. Bathroom was so small you could hardly sit and have the door closed, that is if the door had not been broken so it could shut. The tv was small, the A/C worked okay, cool but not cold. The drapes covered the A/C. Most hotels have the drapes cut...

Every employee we encountered was friendly and professional. We were an hour early and was told no early check- in so we waited at the adjoining brew pub. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Window unit air conditioner was quiet and worked well. The ceiling fan was a nice addition. We were concerned about parking per previous reviews and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Since coming under new ownership in July 2009, there has been a great deal of effort put towards restoring The Faust Hotel & Brewing Company to its original luxury and grandeur. The project has been extensive and is still in progress, but many changes and upgrades can be found throughout the entire property. Our newly redesigned guest suites feature 1920's Art Deco design while incorporating modern amenities including:Wireless Internet, Flat Screen Televisions, Refrigerators, Microwaves, Keurig Coffee Makers, Brita Pitchers. In addition to our guest suites, we have a variety of accommodations to suit your needs including rooms with 1 or 2 double beds, queen and king size beds. The brew pub has something to please everyone in your party: Flat screen TVs, darts, live music, trivia and the comforting surroundings of a classic brauhaus. The Faust Brewing Company now features an array of house brews, including Faust Golden Ale, Altered States German Altbier and Mike Crowe IPA, as well as a variety of seasonal favorites. Leading the production is Ray Mitteldorf, a professional brew master with 17 years experience. For a complete experience, the pub has recently launched its new tapas-style menu, created by Chef Chris Kilisz. His exclusive menu features items specifically designed for sharing and pairing with the pub’s own microbrews: their signature dish, the Faust Wellington, Mini Dogs topped with sauerkraut, sautéed bell peppers and onions and spicy mustard, and German Nachos, to name a few. Just as the pub isn’t limited to beer (there’s liquor and wine, too), the menu isn’t limited to German-inspired options: it boasts a broad spectrum of international cuisine with dishes such as the Croque Monsieur, Souvlaki Skewers, Proscuitto Caprese Bruschetta, and Cochanitas. ... more   less
