The perfect Texas A&M football weekend spot without the crazy high prices. Easy 30 min drive to campus. Lou and Frank are the REAL angels here with loving service to their guests and keeping one of the most darling old Victorians looking amazing.
Thanks Frank & Lou We enjoyed this great place, the hosts are the best. The food & service was incredible. We had such a wonderful trip we're planning a return trip with friends, makes for a wonderful weekend. We also enjoyed sightseeing the area, there is much to see & do.
Simply wonderful --- Our first B&B trip has set the experience bar VERY HIGH. Frank & Lou (owners) are amazing. From the welcome Friday evening to goodbyes on Sunday the weekend was more like a family visit than a B&B. The home is a renovated 1900 plantation home with old character and fantastic charm. Our room "The Gabriel Suite" was very comfortable - wonderful bedding, stained glass window, a huge claw foot tub. While the home is quaint and the rooms are nice, the breakfasts were INCREDIBLE. Angel Bread :-) , homemade quiche, fresh fruit and coffee was the Saturday menu ---- Sunday included Angel Bread :-) , fresh fruit, coffee, juice and Grand Marnier French Toast with Drunken Strawberries :-D AMAZING. Frank and Lou have a real winner in Angels Gate - A great weekend of quiet relaxation and great food ---- well worth a return trip! Richard & Amy Montgomery, TX…
My husband and I had the opportunity to take a weekend anniversary trip and chose Angel's Gate to spend the weekend. We weren't disappointed. Navasota is a quaint little town with very pleasant residents. Louise and Frank at Angel's Gate were so kind and inviting. Everything about our experience, from the clean, cozy rooms, to the delicious breakfast, to the wine tasting meet and greet were charming. We met some very nice people and had a great time.
My husband and I needed a relaxing get-away, and this B&B is a beautiful place to do that. The house has beautiful woodwork and is well maintained. The yard is beautiful and has outdoor seating and soft lighting in the evening. The birds sounded very happy to be there. The wine tasting was a nice opportunity to chat with Lou and Frank (owners) and two interesting couples who were staying at Angel's Gate. It was fun learning some of the history of the house and the neighborhood. Breakfast was fabulous and well-presented. We felt like valued guests. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhood, admiring the stately homes and at least 5 nearby churches. We picked out a church to attend after breakfast on Sunday. We're not Methodist, but the United Methodist Church turned out to be a great choice. While one couple lamented the absence of TV and wifi, we counted that as one of the benefits! We each relaxed in the claw foot tub and enjoyed our temporary return to a slower paced life. We want to visit Angel's Gate again.…
