Detailed Reviews
Manager is more concerned about his boat and not the property or the tenants. Landscaping or mowing and weed eating have been ignored and things are getting over grown. Nothing gets taking care of unless you call the owner, then the manager gets mad over it and hangs up on you, yes, I am a tenant of almost 12 years.

Went to check out Joe's Place with the idea of going there next week with our RV. We knew better than to go on the weekend if we wanted to avoid large crowds. There were only three or four other people there today besides me and my wife. The water was down some 20 ft or so. Just above the reserved fishing area is a nice picnic area with about six tables in nice shade. It was reasonably clean except for some discarded articles laying near the water. The owner was going to all the trash bins and putting in new plastic bags. With the water down so much we had to fish in the sun. They have 9 rv spots with gravel. The RV pads are about 1/2 block from the water. The cost for an RV and two people to fish is $50 per day. The last few miles of the road is narrow.

Like many of the other reviewers, I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My husband and I are new to the San Antonio area and wanted to take our dogs kayaking with us today. We have our own kayaks, so we were just looking for a place to park and take off. As new San Antonians, we had no idea where to go, but when we passed Joe's Place we decided to pull in and see. We figured at the very least, if we couldn't go there, someone would be able to help direct us where to go.
My husband pulled up to the front gate and rolled his window down to ask where we could go to kayak. Before he could even get a word out the woman says something muffled but we made out the word "mask". My husband asked her if she said we had to wear a mask on property. She responded with "You have to wear a mask on property AND you have to wear a mask to talk to me PERIOD." At that point we realized she had asked him to wear a mask to talk. No problem at all, totally understandable. My husband put his mask on in the car and then asked if we could launch our kayaks from their property. She said "We don't accept kayaks and we don't accept animals!" (she could see our dogs were in the car with us). My husband then asked if she knew of anywhere we could go to launch kayaks. She said "No." and wasn't even trying to be helpful. My husband asked "there's nowhere on this whole lake that we can kayak?"to which she responded "No! The whole lake's closed!" (there were obviously people on the lake within sight from where we were in our cars).
We literally drove down the road to Red Cove Cafe and Marina and they could not have been nicer! We parked our car, took the dogs and the kayaks and were out on the lake in 10 minutes (along with tons of other people). It was clear this woman just did not want to deal with us and wanted us to go away. I have never had someone be so instantly rude in my life.

The people there are great and the lake is beautiful. We have been using their boat ramps for years and they also offer gas for your boat, fishing, and some pretty areas for picnics. I believe they offer yearly passes too.

We went there for my boys 5th and 6th birthday party my whole family was there. A bigger lady with brown hair in a blue shirt has been rude to us from the start. As the day ended my uncle was fishing the bank, he has issues with his legs so he leaned on the pier to rest and she ran down there and started yelling at him saying she had him on video and he cant fish there in which he wasnt his line wasnt even in the water. She was screaming and yelling at my family infront of my children my children were legitimately scared of her that they had to ask to leave their own party. She wound up calling the cops on us for no reason and were escorted off the premises by medina county sheriff's and were told to never come back. This is the last time I will ever waste 155 dollars on such a ghetto ass place. I wish I knew your name so I can tell everyone who you are.

Hello, just wanted to drop a line to let you know that Joe's is now under new management! My husband and I want to bring Joe's back to the place it used to be before it was neglected by other managers! We promise to listen to any and all concerns and to correct any wrongs! Customer service is our #1 priority! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the lake!
