I don't understand reviewers that must know full well that they're going to a little inn situated at the edge of Skye, which is hundreds of years old, and complain that it's dated. What did you expect? For us, it what we expect, and for that matter, we thought it was great. We were very well taken care of by... More

With reference to the foregoing negative criticisms, there is nothing wrong with this place that could not be quickly remedied by a good decorator/handyman and some passive ventilation in the bathrooms. The decor is a bit tired, and there is a mould problem in the bathrooms, but the overall effect is interesting and welcoming. The residents' lounge is particularly comfortable,... More

Needs much work. Mold and toilet leak in bathroom was supposedly repaired but was not done. The bedding needs updating. The place is dark, dingy and dirty. It is difficult to find. It definitely has potential but did not any maintainance or updating. Would not recommend it to anyone. It was difficult to find .

A lovely old building but sadly in a bad state of repair. The owner Hazel served us breakfast but was not very friendly. The barman was, well, just odd. The young man on reception was very welcoming and helpful, but he was the exception. Food was distinctly lacklustre - suggesting either a complete lack of interest or, more likely looking... More

My husband and I stayed here while traveling Skye. Hazel the owner greeted us with the warmest welcome and by the next day we were exchanging hugs and good byes. Extremely accommodating and great waitstaff. The room was large with a great big four poster bed that gave us the Scotland charm we were looking for. I would also like... More

We had ben driving all day without luck to find a place to stay for the night and was recommended to try The Lodge. The two rooms were clean and cozy. Hazel and Peter and their young Chech intern were very friendly and accommodating. Nice dinner and breakfast. Absolutely recommendable.

The visit didn't start well, as the welcome was less than warm. We arrive at 7.30pm in pouring rain after a long drive from Glasgow. My husband and I had booked to stay at the lodge as a last minute change to our travel arrangements. When we turned up we had my son and brother in law with us (who... More

We stayed here on our tour of Scotland. We got to Skye and had the most perfect weather (70-75)! My brother that lives in England booked this hotel for us knowing me very well, as we were visiting him from the US. He did an amazing job of picking this place out. The hotel was was built in 1543 and... More

An old building of character and run by a friendly couple of genuine warmth. The room was spacious enough for all our kit and clean. The food was excellent and I would certainly go back again. This was a two day stop over as a part of a long bike tour and was supposed to be our day off the... More
