Detailed Reviews
I have just returned from Tenerife with my mum and we stayed at the cleopatra hotel, we stayed in a superior room with plunge pool.
On arrival we were offered a glass of champagne and the staff were very friendly, our bags were then taken to our room and we were shown around the room and shown how to use the free safe. Also free WiFi excellent coverage.
This hotel is just beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly, the breakfast was beautiful and catered for everyone. The Chef who made the most amazing poached eggs was lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels and bedding were available if you wanted them.
The patio area was brilliant it had a table and chairs and three sun loungers, the only disappointment was the plunge pool was really cold. I think if the hotel were to allow warm water in the plunge pool, this would be heaven.
I would 100% go back to this hotel and I can’t speak highly enough about it. Perfect location on the beach and a very secure hotel. I will definitely be returning. Our holiday was just amazing and the hotel played a big part in this

This is our fourth visit to the Cleopatra Palace, and our recent stay has confirmed why we return for visit after visit.
Apologies for “any repetition” from our previous reviews, but they are very important to us.
The hotel’s location is a “stones throw away” from a beautiful beach area (front of hotel) with benches where you can enjoy the splendour of the sun and waves in the bay, while shops, restaurants and cafès are located at the back of the hotel. All in easy access and distance for limited walkers.
On this visit we had a plunge pool room which offered a very spacious room and balcony with its picnic table, loungers, parasol and plunge pool. A king size bed, with a map😂 and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, plus a large TV on the wall. No problems with Wi-fi connection either.
Our room was kept, as usual, spotless by the always hard-working housekeeping staff. We have NEVER had cause to complain about the cleanliness of our room. Any request for the room is dealt with almost immediately.
The buffet breakfast is still the best we have ever had in any hotel in terms of quantity, quality and variety. I am pleased to say that the standard of poached eggs continues to be fantastic, in fact the queue, this year, for fresh poached eggs and omelettes was growing day by day! The buffet/kitchen staff must be fitted with long-life batteries as the never stop!
The Reception staff are extremely welcoming, cheerful and informative. You are never “rushed” no matter how long the queue for information is.
You may think we are very “easy to please”, we are not! It is more to the fact that at the Cleopatra during our visit we never find any faults.
We would to take the opportunity to thank Maikel who we have emailed in advance, over the years, with any questions or special requests. He has always ensured that these requests are met in full, if within his power. He has made a difference to all our visits to The Cleopatra. Thanks Maikel.
Booked for 2021 already!😎

My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous week celebrating my wife’s 60th birthday. Incidentally without mentioning the birthday to the hotel my wife was presented with a lovely birthday cake, a nice touch.
The room we booked was a superior room with a plunge pool which was lovely and great for sunbathing in private should you so wish. You basically get two hotels to use for the price of one as you can use the facilities of the sister hotel the Mediterranean palace anytime.
Yes as other people have mentioned the decor in the rooms is old, the draws don’t really fit the units and some water damage is obvious, they are a little soulless and dull. We were provided with a fridge, although the rack in the door was broken, there was a kettle but no cups so I asked at reception and got two delivered without question then bought a jar of coffee and milk from the supermarket over the road which kept us in coffee all week for a few euros. We loved the hotel so can overlook these minor things although the management do state on many review replies that these matters are being addressed, I wonder though what the timescale is and if anything is really being done about them I will let you know as I am returning next Winter for sure!

Not too sure why people are rating this hotel so high.
Firstly the good points the Cleopatra is in a great location. Secondly the staff are first rate, dedicated and committed.
Unfortunately I’ve never encountered a room where you get a free kettle but you have to pay for your cups and the tea, coffee etc. Then on top of this you have to pay for the use of the empty fridge. It’s got nothing in it it’s just an empty fridge, WOW how mean is that. This will cost you upwards of 70/80 euros on your stay.
We only had breakfast on our stay so cannot comment on lunch and dinner. The breakfast was plentiful and I’m sure there is something for all. Unfortunately if you like a cooked breakfast you will find it’s consistently cold.
The resort is as previously stated by others very tired, there are cracks and stains on the walls including the bedrooms. I don’t have these conditions at home so don’t enjoy paying to be surrounded by poor maintenance.
Finally we where in the reception block ( there are three blocks ) it is extremely noisy and echoes sometimes past midnight. Firstly with entertainment, also including the bar on the first floor. If you have children or wish to go to bed at a normal time and get up early for a full day the noise will keep you awake.

Very good cohice if you want a quiet and first class hotel by the beach and shopping district. 15 min walks along the seaside to the harbour and city of Los Christianos. Nice, clean an comfortable rooms. Some touch ups needed here and there. We found it a bit odd to have to pay an additional daily fee to abtain the key to te minibar in the hotell room. The reasons for this was obviously that the hotell guests should by the drinks and water form the hotell and not store your own drinks in the minibar to cool it down. The lack of places to sit down with a group of friend was also a bit negative.

Dear Eivin, Thank you very much for your nice comments. I am glad to know that you have enjoyed our services and attentions as much as our surroundings. We are situated in the middle of the Golden Mile, just by the main strip of south Tenerife, and next to the nicest sandy beach of the island. I would also like to thank you for your suggestions. We finally got to stay after being cancelled 3 times from 2020, we originally booked Mediterranean Palace but got transferred to Cleopatra Palace, hotel phoned a couple of weeks before we went to ask if wanted to transfer back to Med Palace but we opted to stay in Cleopatra, this was a great decision, we got best of both worlds, fantastic peaceful sea view room right on the beach but still using all Med Palace facilities. I could go on for ages about how good these hotels are but best just to say staff are absolutely fantastic, (right from arriving on a delayed flight at 1.30am and being offered welcome drinks and staff to take cases to room) rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean, food is great (only stayed B & B), special mention must go to kids club staff, they were brilliant, both my grandkids had birthdays while we were there (they were born one day apart) but the staff put on two separate parties for them in the kids club, no extra charge and they had cakes, snacks, treats, balloons and were given presents and certificates as well all absolutely fantastic, entertainment on the med palace terrace each evening also started with an hour of kids entertainment and then live music until 11pm, nice relaxing lounge bar in Cleopatra with a laid back singer each evening as well, drinks prices were slightly higher than out on the street but certainly not unreasonable. Other things to mention, fridge and safe were provided at no extra charge, sunbeds were never a problems always plenty available, pool towels are also free of charge (on a token basis) and you can take them to the beach, kids were provided with their own kids club toweling robes and bath towels. Hotel is in a great location, walk out the back gate and you are literally on the promenade/beach and walk out the front and you are on golden mile, loads of bars, restaurants, etc to suit every taste and budget. I'm sure I have missed something but overall fantastic holiday and we will be returning very soon - only fault was we only had one week and should have booked two weeks !!!

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to post your detailed review about your recent stay with us. Yes, many guests have gone through the same series of cancellations and re-bookings due to the pandemic, but luckily those times seem to be gone and we are walking back to normality in most aspects of our services and attention. I am really glad to read that your grandchildren have enjoyed their birthdays at our Club Mare Kids. It has been a pleasure having you all here and we hope to welcome you back again soon. +1
We have our hotel we usually go to but we couldn't get it and had eyed this one up a few times. We got a plunge pool suite so we were the very top.
We had our own sun loungers, little plunge pool on the balcony and umbrellas. fresh towels awaiting.
The rooms are lovely, actually the hotel is lovely all round. The statues, stunning lights hanging down. The only thing I would say is it was two single beds together in our room, not sure if that is the same all over, they were together so not an issue for us. A fridge in the room will always get brownie points however unlike other hotels there was the two small bottles of water on arrival and then never replenished. Our other place you get daily water and other refreshments (mini cans of juice/beer). Obviously every hotel is different and I think this was a bit pricier than our other one but they offer more items in the bathroom .
A person playing piano at breakfast, I thought that was a really nice touch.
They have a model of the hotel and you can walk through to the sister hotel (two of them Mediterranean palace and the other is the Sir Anthony, also nice but ours was the nicer of them.
There were always sun beds available and didn't seem to be any of that guarding loads with towels you see in a lot of resorts, everyone was respectful and plenty of beds to go around (we visited in the end of November).
You are right next to the beach so can take towels and have a beach day or eat along the strip, it is a fantastic location.
Some of the decor needs some tlc, some statues are damaged, some of the stairs but it is really minor stuff, overall it is beautiful.
The freebies in your room, skin care products is possibly the most we have seen so far and we have stayed in loads of hotels across the globe.
If you are a reader there is a trolley down by the pool and guests leave/exchange their books and the turnover is really high. I love that.
The food, we only ate breakfast but it was a big selection and I think really good. I am really fussy and can be a nightmare for food, my o/h isn't much fussy at all and both of us were pleased with the offerings.
The lift was broken in our place (two available) and we never had to wait too long to use the other and they were working on fixing the broken one.
Shops are close by too so you can spend as much or as little time in your hotel, we also were right next to the hard rock cafe and can't complaint about much noise either, it was absolutely fine.
Much as we love our other hotel we would absolutely come back to this one, they were also decorating for Christmas, I have never been away for Christmas, nor considered it but I would one year, it looked beautiful.
I can't say much about the staff as we didn't have any real interactions however they were pleasant when we did.

This was our 3rd stay, I love this hotel it’s in the perfect location in a very nice area of las americas, with safari centre on the doorstep loads of lovely restaurants and bars around. The hotel itself is wonderful, absolutely immaculate, the rooms are a little dated but this doesn’t matter as who stays in their room the whole time!! We love the fact you can get a sun lounger without getting up at dawn and the pool is a joy to swim in, we stayed bed and breakfast and there is so much choice and it is all delicious, the hotel pool bar is great a good atmosphere and nice bar snacks. The staff are all really friendly and nothing is too much trouble, it’s right on the sea front of camison beach gorgeous views especially at sunset. We had a standard room number 7232, faces the Med palace next door so you still get a pool view and a sea view!

Much of the reason I enjoyed our (family of 3 with a 12 year old) holidays in Tenerife Sur so much was the stay at Cleopatra Palace. We had a double deluxe room with a private plunge pool on the terrace (which we did not use because we had a perfect hotel pool and the nicest beach in Tenerife right in front of the hotel). The service was flawless, with incredibly nice and warm staff, always there to help with anything, very knowledgeable and fast. We had only breakfast included but the food was so good, fresh and diverse that in most days we chose to have lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant.
The pool was divine, with spotless, warm water and not at all crowded (towels were provided by the hotel and you could change them any time within daily opening hours). The room was very spacious, with a huge terrace and a beautiful view (we did not have sea view but to the tasteful pool and the hotel architecture, the main distraction and shopping street and the mountains). I was a bit afraid that it would be noisy at night but every night around 23.30 the live music in the restaurants and bars around the hotel would stop and the apartment was soundproof. Cleaning every day with sweet presents or thank you notes left on the bed if we left a propina(tip). Room service very quick and like all staff, those who attended us were so nice ! I had a fantastic massage in the brother-hotel Sir Anthony that I certainly recommend to anyone…There was nothing else I would have needed from the hotel and I definitely recommend it to all types of travelers !Congratulations to the staff and management!

Stayed here for one week as a couple. Mikhail was great, providing advice re rooms etc as I booked online directly with the hotel. Our balcony had loungers and a plunge pool. The shower, bath and wash hand basins are in the room which we didn't mind but may not be to everyone's taste. Rooms are clean and were quiet at night. The pool area had plenty of loungers and parasols. Staff removed towels from loungers which were left unoccupied which meant there were always some available throughout the day. Guests can also use the facilities at the sister hotel, the Mediterranean Palace, next door. We found that it seemed to attract families with school-age children as there seemed to be activities geared to that age group. This meant that the Cleopatra's clientele was mainly adults, although there were a few noisy toddlers poolside!
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast is served in a vast, high-ceilinged area where a lady plays piano- probably to disguise the echoes of guests eating breakfast. There is nothing to absorb the sound which ricocheted off all the marble surfaces and we found the piano playing too strident for breakfast time. The whole experience resembled a school canteen. We preferred to eat at one of the outside tables but as there were only a small number of these we were not always successful in getting one. We could have tried the Med Palace but it just seemed like too much effort. We might do this next time. This would be the only aspect that I would like to see changed. There was great selection at the breakfast buffet. We had lunch a few times at the pool bar which was very nice. Staff were friendly and efficient. Each night there was pleasant music in the bar until 11pm approx. We would definitely return.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to write your detailed review. I am glad to read that you have enjoyed the general experience. As for the piano player at breakfast, most of our guests enjoy it although of course we understand that we cannot please everyone. I just hope that this hasn´t spoiled your breakfast experience with us. It will be great having you back. We hope to welcome you again soon. Warmest regards,
