We had a fab stay at this hotel however we feel it could have been better for what we paid. The location is perfect with direct access to the beach from the pool area, but also direct access to the shops from the hotel reception. Massive pool - but freezing! It was extra hot when we visited so maybe that contributed to it feeling extra cold! The room in our opinion was quite dated. Which we don’t mind at all, but have paid much less in other canary hotels for a similar room quality and style. We noticed large inflatables for children on a couple of days which I’m sure ours would have loved. However we went as a couple on this occasion so can’t comment on what was available for children! The hotel looks spectacular from the outside as do the communal areas. We were able to use the pool and jacuzzi at the hotel next door which looked even more spectacular! But no chance of getting a sunbed there on any of the days we stayed!

Not actually a review of the facilities or the hotel but more a review of the bad communication on the part of the hotel, I had a few days booked in December 4-7 which were cancelled by the hotel with no explanation, I emailed to ask why my room was cancelled and have still not had a response, I would hate anyone to have their stay cancelled without checking their emails so please if you have made a booking please check your emails before arriving. 2* only based on communication I'm sure the hotel is worthy of a better score.

Dear geoffu229, Thank you very much for your comments. Please, accept our deepest apologies for any inconveniences. At this point I am sure you can imagine that it has been more than difficult to maintain our opening times due to the constantly changing Covid situation, that forced us to postpone our opening times once and again in an attempt to adapt to the occupation previsions, unexpected cancellations and closed borders. Although this is not excuse, I know that the few staff on duty worked hard to attend the big number of calls and emails regarding these cancellations, but yours must have been missed by mistake. Mare nostrum Resort will be opening its doors again next 1st September, and we will be happy to welcome you soon. Best regards,

Would very much recommend. No complaints about this hotel, the food staff and rooms are all fantastic - especially the ongoing activities for children. Brilliant holiday, will definitely be returning.

Amazing location with plenty of bars and restaurants about. Air con wasn’t very good in the room and wouldn’t recommend the WiFi as it didn’t work us. The food was ok but with lots of lovely restaurants and bars I would advise to eat at them I.e the Chinese opposite called Imperial Tai-Pan and the steakhouse next door to it! The hotel do have a happy hour on cocktails for the bar at the back of the hotel.

The hotel is perfectly situated. Family friendly and great for couples to. Breakfast is fantastic (dinner is nice but I never like Spain buffet dinners) Great staff and hotel lovely a little pricey for what you get in the rooms(a little dated now) but overall fantastic and have dealt great with our family's covid situation this year
