Stayed at the Christiania with Crystal Ski in February 2024. I have to say the hotel is without a doubt one of the nicest friendliest hotels we have stayed in whilst skiing. Rooms were clean and although small, had everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was extremely good with all you needed to get set up for the day and the bar was nice to relax in after skiing. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and offered several recommendations for places to eat in the evening. Location is very good, an easy walk to the nearest slope and close to a good choice of restaurants. Overall an excellent experience, recommended and we will definitely be back.

Nice central hotel with excellent breakfast and friendly staff, ideal for a ski trip. Handy location between the ski lifts and the old town restaurants. The breakfasts were very generous. Would recommend this place for a family stay. Good value.

We arrived and recieved a very warm welcome from the enthousiast hotel owner. She's and her husband are very nice and helpfull people. The restaurant personnel recognised us from a short stay in summer.
It is a very cosy hotel where good food is served, and it has nice, quiet and clean rooms. The staff is also very helpfull. We stayed for 6 nights for a ski holiday. The hotel is located at 5 minutes walking from the Aravet skilift and nearby the ancient village center which invites you for a walk. There is a large, free and hotel owned parking place which is closed during the night.
There is also a nice bar in the hotel. Breakfast was also good even as the winelist where you can find ggod wines for reasonable prices. Chancing the menu wasn't a problem when we discovered that duck was served for dinner.
We've payed for half board only € 95,00 per person a day which is not much compared to other hotels in skiresorts with the same amount of pistes ( 250 km). Skiing is even better as in Alpe d'Huez, where the lifts are often closed due to strong winds. This resort has very much and nice tree runs!!
The owner and her husband are upgrading the hotel step by step constantly. We've promised ourselves to come back in Hotel Christiania.

We spent a week during the Xmas holidays and our experience was actually far from our expectations. We were very disappointed by the food which was border line with a no-choice menu; by the cost of the wine (the cheapest bottle was 20 EU !); the dining places were very very narrow. Another very negative point was the daily room cleaning which was done by the restaurant waiters (!): they were coming to your door early in the morning, putting the guests under a terrible pression. The Spa (?) was very small and open only 2 hours a day. Cannot really understand how an Hotel like that, could get a classification of a 3 stars. We will be never back again.

This family hotel works in half board basis, this means breakfast and dinner included with a fix menu. Even though we have a fix (main) menu, we always give a choice for our guests. Whenever children do not want something to eat, we give always a choice. We adapt ourselves at what we have available at that moment also. We have 1/2 bottles of wine which start at 9€, and effectively we do not have cheap variety of wines, just middle good ones for a 3***hotel. In our restaurant we have space for 70 people. You can visit our website and visit our 360° photos. Eventhough this is a 60 year old hotel , is considerably big as a restaurant. If guest tell us in advanced that they do not want to be disturbed, or not to do the rooms, we respect, but is unfortuantely to be awaked by the maid (or waiters/waitresses) that start knocking the door at 9 o clock in the morning to start the clean up, which we consider is normal. The schedules for our SPA is:16 to 20 hrs, we are open 4 hours. Guests return back from ski at around 4 o clock , reason why we open it at this time of the day. We stayed here during the 2013 Tour de France. It was absolutley charming and served the best dinners every night, compliments to the Owner who is also the Chef and his wife, they made us feel comfortable and fed us well!

I stayed at Hotel Christania in July 2011 for one week. We were hear with a group who were taking part in the L'etape du tour. On arrival my first impression was the rooms were very small. However my week here was excellent as the staff here were warm and friendly and the food was very good every evening.
The hotel is close to many of the famous climbs which feature in the Tour de France so if its a summer road or mountain biking holiday or a winter skiing holiday I can highly recommend this hotel.

I reserved two rooms for one night in August and three full weeks before the trip I had to cancel my reservation. I did so by email. This hotel uses an archaic French law that allows them to keep your deposit no matter when you cancel. It is called "Arrhes." Be careful with this. Luckily I am only out 100euros. I would definitely stay elsewhere (Briançon or Le Monetier, just down the road). There are plenty of other hotels that take your CC as a guarantee and if you cancel (within reason) no problem. French civil law states that you get a full refund on any cancellation before 15 days of the reservation....... unless you have paid an arrhes. Then you get zero back. The hotel owner will gladly keep your money, and only offer a future stay.

We stayed with our son for four nights to take advantage of the great snow this season. I cannot praise the team at this cosy family hotel highly enough. They were super friendly and helpful and made our stay a happy and memorable one. The food too was excellent - better in fact than I’ve had in some 5 star ski hotels; and they had a pretty good wine list too.
The hotel is in a great spot in the village and just a short walk to the ski lift. All in all, great value for money, great people (who speak perfect French, English & Spanish) - we will be back!!

Great Hotel in La Salle les Alpes, close to the downtown, where you can find some restaurants and bars, anyway, you won't find as good food as they prepare in the hotel (incredible dinners we had!). Rooms are very fine with renewed bathrooms, I'll be back, for sure!

Eclectic decor and grumpy breakfast person.
When asked for additional croisant's when there were clearly insufficient for the number of diners we were told there were no more available. Not good enough.
