Trip with Action Outdoors, and 5 friends in December - all inclusive with return coach, accommodation, food, lift pass, gear hire and tuition!

The UCPA centre was great.
- location is unbeatable (ski in, ski out) right at bottom of slopes, lifts metres away.
- FANTASTIC food - 3 course evening meals everyday (plus packed lunch - if you want it) + buffet breakfast
- brilliant atmosphere, everyone (regardless of nationality) is like-minded and friendly
- the rooms are simply, but all you need after full days on the slopes - clean and when shared with others can be perfect for meeting new people

Snowboard / Ski lessons were great - and cater for range of abilities - our group (on the trip) was everything from beginners to ex-saisonaires, but lessons / tuition was great for all of us. The top level 'lessons' were more like having a guide that knew all the great spots and getting to ride with a load of new friends at the same level as you.

Gear was pretty good - I had brought my own stuff with - but I used the centres gear as we ended up doing lots of off-piste runs through the trees ;)

Oh - and there's an outdoor heated pool! - that over looks the bottom of the slopes

This is my first UCPA experience and I wish I joined it earlier! Lovin' it !

The atmosphere is super good, I'm lucky that my 3 roommates are all very nice French girls and one of them speak very good English. There are activities organized by UCPA every evening, you'll not be bored!
The coaches are friendly, and fun, and professional, and caring~~ I had 3 different coaches and they are all nice ( snow board, Ski du fond, then Raquette and Ski Alpin). I enrolled in Mix activities beginner course, and the manager was very nice to change my first day to snow board.

The food is buffet for 3 meals a day, with plenty of fruits and dessert and cheese and fresh salad.... and you have lots of diversities.... awww I must gained lots of weight!

The room doesn't have tower, or any facilities.... so remember to bring... and don't forget your swimming suit, since there is a swimming pool in the building, and the famous Les Grande Bain nearby.

The Grande Bain is a must-go after skiing, watch the sunset view in hot spring is just perfect~!

A group of us (8) went on a skiing trip last Christmas at Serre-Chevalier vallee. Staying at the UCPA gave us extremely good value for the week-long trip, coming to about £600 for the package which included full board and twin-bed rooms (share toilet/bathroom with another twin room), ski equipment hire, 7-day ski pass, ski lessons and private transfer to and fro Grenoble airport. The fact that it's only 1 minute from the main chairlifts/cable car station means we could get up on the slopes really fast first thing in the morning after a hearty breakfast. Meals were good, complete with a cold salad bar, hot foods section, dessert (cakes and ice cream for every lunch and dinner), fruits and cheeseboard. They organised games every evening for everybody after dinner, as it does seem to get quite quiet in the evening because most shops shut rather early. Inside UCPA they also have a large screen that shows films and two PS3 stations.

We were a mix of beginners and intermediate skiers so half of us took full time lessons and half took half time lessons. Instructors were superb, e.g. ours taught us to play games on the slopes to overcome our fears of the steepness of slopes. We also took half a day out to go to a nearby village Briancon (free by ski bus with your ski pass) to see the historic site.

Everyone was really friendly- the only downside to us was that most people at the centre speak French with little English. Even the games were and conducted played in French, but luckily there were 8 of us so we could entertain ourselves with boardgames (a large selection at UCPA) and cards. Also, I think probably due to its relatively lower altitude it rained one of the days we were there and the pistes became rather icy the next day.

All in all, a great place if you want to get the most of your money and have an unforgettable trip.

Holiday is about experience, and this is a thing that here can't provide. I am a beginner on skiing and snowboarding, and I randomly choose to ski. However, I discovered I really want to do snowboard. Therefore, I asked for changing to snowboarding equipment. And here is the reply:

"You can't change your equipment like that. You might change it again tomorrow"

Of course I know if I ask them to help on this will cost them a bit more work. However, because of their attitude, without asking my reason. They literally ruined my 7 day holiday in here. I am pretty sure I will not come back to here again for skiing and snowboarding anymore.

First time going on a ucpa trip and definitely not the last!
Not a romantic couple get-away, but the atmosphere was really nice. Everyone came here with the same intentions: enjoying on and off the slopes and meeting new people. Good sport sessions in small groups where the focus was on improving your skills. Food was varied and delicious.
For me the only negative point was the fact that all evening activities were in French. For a non-French speaker the (music) quizzes were not accessible. Even though most of the ucpa crew was able to speak English.

Tip: les grands bains - for a nice and relaxing evening after a full day of ski. Amazing view!

I stayed here instructing a university group, the location is great for both beginners and more experienced Ski'ers, the lift is just out the back of the hotel. The facilitys are pretty standard for the UCPA experience, if you need kit or instruction the staff are more than happy to accommodate.

The bar and restaurant are perfectly adequate, a good selection of food and as much as you can eat! I would have liked more cooked breakfast options, they did a good bacon and eggs on our first morning and then we never saw bacon again but hey it was still good! :)

The rooms provide all you need, a bed, shower and balcony. There are communial areas on the landings of each floor so you can meet with friends from other rooms etc.

All in all a good location for large groups!

This was our first venture skiing with the kids 7 and 10. Action Outdoors offer exceptional value in conjunction with UCPA. The accommodation is hostel like and perfect for skiing. Ski hire, ski pass all worked well. UCPA is well situated for the lifts. One gondola close by whisks you high up the mountain.
The food is ok and as its included you can't grumble.
We had driven down and there was plenty of parking.

Our second time visiting this UCPA. Great location, all included and great skiing. The UCPA has a lovely terrace with views straight up the mountain. Very close to the gondola (2mins) and right next to a chair lift (1min). Very convenient. Great for groups and families.

UCPA was the perfect place to go for my ski trip and I will definitely be visiting again. The only small downside of my recent trip was regarding a photographer who we met there which helped us take pictures during our ski classes. The pictures that we bought from him were incomplete and we are still trying to contact him as we believe that it was an honest mistake. If anyone knows the contact details of this photographer, it would be greatly appreciated.
