We spent the week at this hotel with 35 children between the age of 7 and 11 - it was amazing ! The staff were fantastic, the children loved the evening activities. The staff sat with us to plan the menu for the children and were so kind to our pupils. The hotel was opposite the ski base camp so wonderful for the children. The Staff and children loved the hotel garden to play in and it was a good base for campfires and evening activities. The village was beautiful and the lovely little gift shops and coffee shops were amazing. Highly recommend this for a school ski trip. We have been on a few and this is by far the best for us :) Thank you team Frejus.

Serre Chevalier and Ski Bound are brilliant and we always have an amazing time! Although we had a few suggestions about the food and rooms, the overall experience is great and everyone had a positive experience. We took 35 children in December and we were very lucky with the snow! The hotel is right next to the ski lifts and slopes, which is such a positive. The equipment is always high quality and staff are happy to help to improve the experience. We keep coming back because we have so much fun!

The food was good and the lovely young team made us all feel really welcome. We went as a large family group with three generations and a big variety of ski abilities. The hotel was right next to the slopes and was warm and comfortable with shops, bars and restaurants nearby.

The staff at the Frejus were all very friendly and willing to go the extra mile at all times, a really great bunch. Unfortunately there was no hot water in the hotel for most of our stay, the food was worse than school dinners and several of our groups rooms had serious mould problems. The location, just across from the Frejus bubble lift and a short walk from the casse de boeuf chairlift, is ideal, but if you want hot showers, decent food or rooms that aren't mouldy, go elsewhere

This hotel is ideal for hassle free skiing. Run by friendly efficient staff and close to the lifts. Ski tech was very good and helpful and importantly always on hand for changes in kit etc.Thoroughly recommend for small school groups or family trip. And Stella in the bar!!

We visited the Frejus at Christmas 2016 .

2 Adults and our 17 year daughter - location is superb literally across the road (very quiet road) from the bubble lift that takes you up the mountain. it is close to the local shops , Pharmacy , a few bars / restaurants , the one cash machine and the "old " village of Bez - which has a few more restaurants and the most beautiful church , where my wife and I attended Christmas eve mass

The hotel bedrooms are a little dated but it does not effect you stay , there was always plenty of hot water , complimentary toiletries , we had a bath in our room and the staff were good a cleaning the rooms when we wanted it done - we had a room with a view of the mountains in the distance and its was very warm and cosy

Breakfast was very good and there was always plenty of Cereals, Croissants , Pain au Chocolate , Ham, Fruit , Coffee and a good choice of tea's etc

We were half board and Dinner was 3 courses and always hot and served to your allocated table by enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, if required there was always a vegetarian option. Wine was always included and of a decent standard.

You could come back for lunch and very reasonably priced it was too

Small bar was great In the evenings , good atmosphere and decent choice of local drinks. Larger on tap and usually Vin Chaud if you wanted something warm after a hard days skiing

There is ski hire on site and the team were very friendly and helpful - that for me is what the hotel was all about - the staff - Sue, who is the local manager and was always there happy and attentive -but that is the same for all the staff , be the night porter ,the Ski tech , Bar man , Après organiser , housekeeping , Handyman , Chef all were a decent group who made the holiday a bit more "personable "

Overall we had a great time and although we could have done with a bit more snow we would go back and to me that says it all

The Frejus is operated by some wonderful people, and apart from rather outdated ski lift systems, the location and ski area are excellent in good snow conditions. Food is very good for the target market of school trips, and decent value for money.

However, there are down sides to this establishment that party leaders should be aware of when considering this hotel for their trip.

The main problem is a serious lack of space and normal ski related facilities like storage rooms, changing space and drying facilities for wet gear. These necessities have to be carried out either in the reception hall or bedrooms and it's all a bit shambolic at peak times.

Lounge areas are also lacking and we had real issues finding decent areas for our kids to relax and were in competition with another 2 schools for the bar and very small lounge area. The brochure photos of this area are very misleading.

The bar also suffered from a lack of basics like small beer glasses and ice, and the advertised range of drinks wasn't available which was a bit disappointing when it came to quenching après ski thirsts!

WIFI connection was extremely erratic and it became necessary for our party leader to get up in the middle of the night in order to get a connection for essential e-mail.

There was no air conditioning or even central heating with all rooms heated by basic electric heaters that couldn't be used to dry wet clothes, and the hot water system seemed to shut down in the afternoon?

The hotel buildings themselves are also very tired and outdated and the utterly foul smell in the public toilets makes them almost unbearable to use. Profits are clearly not being reinvested in the real estate, and this issue seems to prevail across most of the operator's establishments we've experienced. Ski hotels for the UK schools market now lag the standards of basic UK traveller's hotels dramatically, and wholesale upgrades really should be getting much more priority in the boardroom.

Having said this, we had a decent holiday and as long as party leaders are aware of the Frejus's limitations, they can make an informed decision.

My 5 star rating is because of how good the owner and staff were. The hotel is basic. It is suited as a base for skiing or cycling rather than a luxury break. We were so well looked after . On the coach journey from the airport , our rep said that anyone staying at the Fejus were lucky because the owner was so nice and would do anything for us and that is exactly what I found . The rest of here team was every bit as good. I will be staying at the Frejus the next time we go back

I have just returned from a week at Hotel Frejus with a school ski trip. Location of the hotel was good for our group - near the ski school and a short walk into the village too. Great hospitality from Sue, Bev, Pat, Harley, Mike, Jack and the rest of the staff. It's certainly one of the nicest school ski hotels we've had. The shower was divine. The food was great and the chef catered for our dietary needs really well. The only problem was the wifi but it was no worse than at other school ski hotels. I'd happily go back again.

This hotel was perfect for school needs, decent room sizes, the food wasn't too bad and the staff were very nice.the entry path is suicidally icy and near impossible with ski boots and the toilet room is very small as well (not much bigger than a wardrobe in my room) all of the kit that i borrowed and used was in excellent condition, didnt smell of sweaty heads or feet which was great as that is something i dislike heavily. The rooms sleep 6 easily and was perfect me and my 5 friends. The bathroom was separate from the toilet in my room and the bath/shower was ok. However the light switch is on the outside for some mischievous child to turn it off while someone is mid way through a shower (not amusing) and the toilet room locks can be picked with a loli stick as one of my friends found out in a different room. Overall good but food was nothing special and wouldn't want to stay any more than a week

When we stayed there the wifi was not great in the area , the hotel as well as surrounding cafes and pubs with wifi did not have any , we did however go bowling one evening and the wifi was excellent , The wifi in the mountain cafes and bars was also good

Thank you for your questions. Lot of information is available on our website. Our hotel does have limited Wifi coverage subject to group leader requests. We have had mostly great feedback on the food with 96% of group leaders rating the food Good or Excellent. Breakfast is continental buffet including freshly cooked croissants, bread, ham, cheese, yogurts, cereals, boiled eggs etc. Everything you need to get you skiing! Buffet Hot Lunch is served back at the hotel and is quick and easy food to top you up before you head back out. Dinner as served at your table over two courses. Our British chefs offer a variety of set menus through the week. All rooms are en-suite and following recent upgrades to the boilers, there is plenty of hot water. We look forward to seeing you in April!

Does the hotel have free wifi?
Answer from SkiBound-Team

Hi Fizzital, due to the nature of the hotel, this is something that some guests love, and some guests hate. We are looking at options so hope we will have a service available as todate (as Cranberry said) it has not been very good! Speak to the duty manager who will be able to give you the options (which will be free to use)
