As one of three couples we followed the recommendation of our friend who had visited Escondida Ranch 3 times this year. It was a lovely 3 day holiday for all of us with gorgeous grounds, hiking opportunities, spa treatments and shopping in nearby Comfort and Fredericksburg. Pam and Dawn were fabulous hostesses - funny, talented, interesting women. Dawn is an... More

This was our 3rd visit to Escondida for our annual Best Friend Weekend Escape. We absolutely love this place. If you want a secluded and off-the-grid location to decompress and unwind, this is it - hands down. Remember, there is noooo cell phone access at the resort. This is why you come here - to totally decompress and relax. Kerrville... More

The hotel was nice, food was much less than expected for the price we were paying. This resort is in need up upgrading. This could be a true destination resort if they updated some of the amenities. Example the outside furniture is well worn and only about half the lights worked. The Spa, although the I received an excellent massage,... More

I booked a Couples’ Get-Away – complete with a spa package (facials and massages) in October (2016). We arrived at the resort later than anticipated and as such, missed dinner. However, we found our cozy, comfortable room with ease and were greeted with the sounds of relaxing music, beautiful red roses, a bottle of local red wine, and a fruit/cheese... More

Just a beautiful place . Very secluded , and quiet with the exception of the lovely sound of the water fountains and the birds. Our room was very spacious. An actual WINDOW that we could open for the lovely breeze was a huge plus for us . From the walk in tiled shower to the comfy beds we were very... More

Upon our arrival at Escondida, we were warmly welcomed with not only gorgeous views of the heart of Hill Country, the beautifully tucked away resort, but also the staff. The combination of atmosphere, lodging and hospitality that Escondida offered was truly wonderful. The complimentary meals were eloquently prepared and everyone was so personable. The resort is well maintained, the rooms... More

Couldn't have asked for a better mini-vacation!!! The feel is so personable and the staff strives for perfection!!! The wine tour was also well executed. They scheduled everything and checked in to gauge comfort and expectations met through out our stay! Their energy brought each complimentary meal to life and the views could not have been better. Look forward to... More

Escondida is the perfect getaway for people who want to be away from it all. Tucked away in the Texas Hill Country, you are surrounded by trees, greenery, and wildlife. My wife and I enjoyed having morning coffee on our balcony and watching the occasional deer and rabbits come walking by. Yes, there is little to no cell service or... More

Escondida does not live up to the name Resort nor the $299. a night price tag. They demand a high cost for your stay, but the quality of the property and amenities for the guest is lacking. In my opinion, it has not been maintained and updated to command those prices. The advertising photos on their website are not completely... More

Travel09south, Sorry to hear that you feel that the property has been neglected over the years and that things have changed. We are very consistent with how we run the property and I am very proud of the way the property looks. Our ivy was planted so that it would grow the way it is currently growing. I apologize if... I liked being tucked away from everything in this remote place. It was nice and quiet but there was nothing much to do or see unless you're looking for a private, romantic getaway which is what I wanted.
