Enjoyed my 3-night stay. The room was basic, but clean (and recently painted), with a private bath, a good TV, and effective heat. The location is excellent just 1 block off the main plaza. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Would definitely return.
Firstly I stayed in attic room where I couldn't get Wifi. The manager insisted it was my phone- Which it wasn't. He then moved me to a Room on a lower Room( lots of Muttering under his breath ) It was so dirty I took One Of The Bathroom Towels And dusted it Myself. A Lot Of Muck came Up. The women staff At Really friendly As Are The bar and restaurant staff More than I can say for The manager of the hostel.
I had a great short stay at this place. For a very cheap price I had a single room. Not the most modern room, but everything I needed was there and for the price I couldn't ask for more. What for me was important, were the people. Not sure who the owners were, but I was helped by two nice men (both older than 50). As I was going to leave early the next day, they offered to make me a takeaway breakfast. It was a simple breakfast but it's the gesture that counts. So sweet. I also got a beer for free :-)
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking is becoming a tad more difficult but the same great quality is available in this hostal. The administration is first class. It is close to the plaza mayor which has so many places to choose from to eat. Breakfasts are typical for Spain and tasty. I plan to stay here whenever I visit Trujillo.
We have now stayed in 11 different places on this leisurely trip from France and this was the worst. It was not our first choice but the two other places we wanted were full. It was not terrible – it was clean, the bed was comfortable but it was certainly the noisiest, largely because we had very noisy neighbours who seemed to spend their time moving around the furniture. They also seemed to have cols and their coughing could be clearly heard. Mind you with not enough space in the very small room to get round someone sitting at the table you can perhaps understand why they moved stuff around. The bathroom was OK, though the shower cubicle was very small. Parking is a bit of an issue, though you can park in the lovely Plaza Mayor for 30 minutes and take your luggage round to the hostal which is only about 100 metres away. There is supposed to be a space outside for loading and unloading but there was frequently someone in the space. With the Plaza Mayor being so close the location is great…
