It's a pleasent and quiet gateway full of nature. The rooms are carefully decorated and very clean. The staff are very freandly and the attention is great. The food is excellent, fresh and delicuous (made from scratch). The lake shore is a pleasent site for a bath. You can enjoy bird watching in the morning.

I have been travelling around and stayed at many hotels, guesthouses and lodges, but nothing is like Nitun. Lorena and Arturo met us with open arms and did everything to make you feel welcome. Everything, from breakfast with coffee in the morning until dinner at night tasted delisious. The lodge is right next to the beautiful Lago Peten Itza with...

My family and I stayed in Nitun last December when we went to visit the Mayan Ruins of Tikal. It was beautiful! The food was amazing! It is like having a fine dining chef in the middle of the jungle! I did not expect that!! The owner, Lorena, was a fantastic host and the vegetation and flowers that surround you...

I stayed there with a friend and it was the most amazing experience. Everything makes you feel like you are in the forest. The access to the lake is great, the environment, the service, the rooms, the hosts are the best, and the food it's incredible, you won't even know what time is it! I'm looking forward to come back!!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Hummingbird suite, and wished that we had booked for longer. Lorena and Arturo couldn't have been more welcoming. The facilities and atmosphere were so relaxing - we kayaked across the lake, swam, lounged in hammocks, ate some truly memorable meals - ask for the prawn cerviche - and watched the hummingbirds busy feeding,...

We only stayed one night but it was a very good one. Lorena & Arturo were simply marvelous and fun to talk with after dinner. Accommodations were warm & comfortable. The food was delicious! Great bread. Great coffee. Ceviche couldn't be better. Ice cold mugs for beer. Hard to beat. We used the kayak to go for a tour of...

We stayed for a few days with Lorena and had the most relaxing, amazing, stimulating, educational, delicious... I could go on and on. The bungalows are all quite lovely and comfortable, with great showers and everything you'd need. The lake is gorgeous - we took one of the kayaks from Nitun out to paddle around and enjoyed lounging around in...

This is a jewel of a resort. Beautiful environment with hundreds of hummingbirds. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotless with wonderful bathrooms. But most important is the owner and chef extraordinaire Lorena and her master assistant Arturo. This is a place we will return to again and again. Skip the big resorts and stay here you will not be disappointed!

We would 100% recommend this as a place to stay whilst in Guatemala. It is located just out of Flores across the lake. Very peaceful ambience, it is surrounded by trees and you wake up to hummingbirds outside your room every morning. You can swim or kayak in the most wonderful lake. The food is so good and personally catered...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ni'tun is a small Guatemalan boutique lodge located within our own private reserve on the shores of beautiful Lake Peten Itza. We offer personal service, friendly staff, knowledgeable guides, drivers and tour operators. Kayaking is a must. We pride ourselves as being passionate about our cuisine. Local ingredients are used in our fusion meals. All itineraries are tailored and many destinations in the area can be visited. It is a peaceful spot to relax and be immersed in nature. Favorite amongst guests is chatting over dinner with other travelers and us, the owners. We are far away and near enough Flores island and we operate our tours and expeditions privately to the main sites, both for one-day tours as for longer camping expeditions throughout Peten, Belize, Honduras and Mexico. Collective tours to Tikal also available. Our main aim is to share our culture with travelers and to support sustainable activities that involve local communites as well as protected areas. Through low impact eco tourism, we are able to support our conservation projects. ... more   less
