I really have mix feelings about this place. Neil, the owner, is helpful and try to accommodate your needs even though he is a bit rough (I would not say he is friendly). I have organized with him the transfer from the airport to the hostel and everything went fine. The place has a really nice view on Flores and it...

Hello folks. Just wanted to take a chance to respond to this review. Concerning me not being friendly I really don't get that. The tour company just didn't pick her up. I take the nlame for that. This guest was given a free box lunch and a beer like she mention. Upon check in I mention the pool developed a...

Great place to stay. Don't be put off by it being across the water. Journey by boat is beautiful and takes 3 minutes tops - don't let the boat drivers over charge you - 50 per person only. No ATM over at the hostel of course but the staff lent us money for the journey - lovely people. The view...

Don't be put off by this hostel being located in San Miguel rather than Flores, it is so easy to get between the two (boats run all day, doesn't even take 2 minutes) and it is absolutely worth it for the view across the lake and of Flores town. Seeing the sunset from here was breathtaking. We always opted to...

A great hostel, with everything i needed. Clean, good food, confortable, swimming pool, nice people. Neil goes out of his way to help out. I have never been in a place like that. And, as a bonus, it has an incredible view. Will return for sure!

Not to be mistaken as a hostel on the main island of Flores, Chaltunha is a great hostel just across the lake at San Miguel. We were picked up by Neil promptly after we arrived just in time to see the spectacular sunset over Flores, the lake and surroundings from the Chaltunha bar. Our room was comfortable, a little loud...

Getting to the lodge is a task in itself due to being across the lake and up a hill, the owner Neil neglected to mention this and therefore cost us 3 hours of hassle to get there. Neil also over charges travellers staying at the lodge for the Tikal package where as in town tour operators offer cheaper prices for...

This hostel was a nice place but we thought the business was run terribly. Once we found out the hostel was across the lake and were told to contact the owner for transport and it took several hours to get ahold of him. All calls go to his personal phone which he rarely answers. Once we were there, Neil was...

Folks Please give me the opportunity to genuinely apologize for such an embarrassing review. Please give me a chance to respond. First and foremost the points stated are blatant lies. These arrived at our hostel for only one night. They inform us that they have a 07:30am flight the next morning. I ask what time would you like to leave....

We booked a couple of nights at this hostel while visiting Flores. Neil (the owner) was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodation. We got in really late one night but he still sent a boat to get us and went above an beyond to arrange tours to tikal and bus trips elsewhere in guatemala. He had a lot of great advice...

Chaltunha hostel on Miguel island was lovely. We were picked up by ?Neil from the boat and driven the two minute up hill drive to the house. There were about 5 cabins in the gardens and we had a 6 bed cabin. You definitely felt at one with nature here! Bathrooms are a bit grubby and very full of nature...
