I had to work for a day in Matador. So my husband joined me for an overnight at Hotel Matador. Delightful historical 8-room hotel, beautifully restored by 3 sisters. Quiet, small town with interesting history. Wonderful breakfast! And the best coffee - a local claimed that it was the water. We recommend that you take the road less traveled and...

My husband and I definitely enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Matador. It is so tastefully decorated in a classy, yet typical, West Texas style! Linda and Marilynn make you feel right at home making it a very comfortable place to stay. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed our visit with folks we shared a table with over breakfast....

My mother and I were taking a road trip through West Texas. I accidentally stumbled upon the Hotel Matador B &B online, and so we reserved a room. Our visit to the historic hotel was so memorable. We loved how well preserved it was, and the breakfast the next morning was far better than any commercial hotel. If you want...

My sister and I spent three days here while looking at property in the area. To say this is the back of beyond is putting it mildly. But should you ever find yourself in the Texas panhandle stay here. Owned by three sisters the front looks like something out of an old western. The lobby has comfy seating and a...

This is one of the nicest places I have spent the night. We were here to spend a couple days driving around the Palo Duro Canyon. Our anniversary was spent here and from the moment we walked in we had a smile on our face. It was like going back to a time when life was more simple. For the...

My wife and I stayed here enroute from Central Texas to Colorado. It was a very nice place for our wedding anniversary. Wife loved the antique and reproduction furniture, dishes, and flatware. Partner Marilyn made us feel like we were visiting family. The bathroom was spectacular, with a four-head shower that made us want to stay way too long. Breakfast...

My husband and I needed a place to stay for a family wedding in the area of Matador. Since there aren't many hotels close by we decided to try the Hotel Matador. Hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at the Matador again as well as...

Most people probably do not know where Matador TX is or pass through it on their way to somewhere "important" in Texas. Believe me, it is well worth driving a few miles off the beaten track from Wichita Falls to Lubbock or Amarillo to stay in this charming Bed and Breakfast. Good people, good food, good service, and really lovely...

My husband and I just wanted a few days away from Big D and our first night stay was at the Hotel Matador and it was lovely. Stayed in Honeymoon Suite on first floor because I have mobility issues. Husband loved all the shower heads in shower; I loved the sweet sisters who treated us so nice. Breakfast was extra,...

My best friend and I decided to do a hiking trip to Caprock Canyon State Park and were looking for a good place to stay at night. (We are hikers, not campers!) We like a comfortable bed, nice shower and good food after our hikes and we found all this in the little town of Matador. Our room was clean...

“The town is very quiet so I would say all rooms front or back are fairly quiet. Folks in the two rooms adjacent to the stairs probably hear people going up and down, but overall, that wouldn't be too many people since there are just a few rooms.”
