The Thunderbird Hotel was the cutest place! The modern amenities mixed with the small town, old school feel was a complete vibe. Marfa is an excellent getaway and the Thunderbird provided comfy accommodations, a relaxing vibe and instagram worthy spots. Reasonably priced and access to the distillery, PlanetMarfa and great coffee.

The hotel is completely overpriced. It requires an uplifting as it begins to feel old. There are also weird things such as not having king size sheets so the beds are untucked on one side. Then light fixtures are all over, including on the floor, which makes it very impractical. And then there was the maid who didn't do the 2 beds, did not clean the toilet and clearly just wanted to get out of the room asap. So no extra amenities, not moving any clothes, etc etc. We did tell the manager and she was very nice about this but this place needs work both in the physical aspect and in housekeeping. And for $280 per night (+ taxes), this is just wrong.

This was a perfect place for our latest girlfriends getaway. We so enjoyed the Gardens full of lavender & native plants. We gathered for morning coffee and Wine & Tequila poolside in the evenings. Quite, clean rooms with Luxury linens bath products

This was our second time visiting Thunderbird . We love it!!! It’s such a beautiful and chill hotel , we immediately felt on holiday and relaxed when we arrived. Perfect if you like quiet and peaceful in vintage retro surroundings. 🩵

Beautiful rooms--really modern and clean, nice aesthetic. My partner and I came with our 5 kids. The atmosphere was calm and quiet but also welcoming for a family. The pool was beautiful and clean and the landscaping created a sense of privacy and desert beauty. We'll definitely come back.

This is the cutest hotel. It was very clean and comfy. I love that they have a fireplace area that is stocked for you to use. The pool is clean and nice. We came to Marfa for a wedding and stayed here a few nights before going to the famous hotel Paisana for the actual wedding. While the Paisano was very nice, I would still have chosen to stay at the thunderbird the entire trip if not for the wedding. The thunderbird was more afforable. Also, while the thunderbird has a cute vintage vibe it is still up to date in all ways it needs to be. Air conditioning, nice shower with great water preasure, big bathroom, cute mini fridge. I am actually so sureprised that anyone would have any complaints about this place. Anyone visiting just needs to understand that Marfa is a special, unique relaxed community. You can basically walk the whole community. The cell service is in and out and the wifi is too but thats the desert. 10/10 would come back and stay at the thunderbird. Also, do yourself a favor while in Marfa and don't miss out on Marfa Buritto, bring cash!…

This place is absolutely gorgeous in the courtyard! The sweet girl running the office, came at nine at night to let us book a room. The room was cosy and hip and they think of everything! The bed was very comfy! We loved the electric kettle and pour over coffee system that was in our room for our use. LOVED IT! We HIGHLY recommend the Thunderbird!

Few negatives - I didn't get information on what the room included, such as the in-room coffee, water, etc. if extra or that was complimentary - maybe I missed reading that on the room's info sheet? The bathroom sink didn't seem cleaned well and was grimy. Positives - check-in was easy, mostly online, and the woman giving me the room key was friendly. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, and the room quiet and restful without any clutter. Great lighting choices inside and a good place to work. The desert garden between the rooms and the pool and entry / exits was so inviting. I only wish I would've stayed at least a couple more nights, Tuesday and Thursday, and still get out before the weekend rush of vibesters / influencers invade! That would have given time to enjoy my working vacation and the fire pits, plus relax in the town more.…

The room smelled of the strongest chemical smell upon entering that we ended up buying a candle in order to help mask the smell, at least we knew it was clean! The beds and pillows were comfortable and I liked the minimalist decor. The coffee/ tea kit and the stationary were nice touches. It got very loud at night with groups around the fire pit but settled close to 11pm. I loved the touches of dimmable lamps and lots of fluffy towels. Easy check in and out process too.
