Although we didn't stay at Gage Hotel, we did enjoy a couple of hours in the bar. Met some other travelers for nice conversation. Server was very good with recommending several local brews. Had some good appretizers as we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in Marathon preparing for our trip to Big Bend.

Stayed overnight in the Gage Hotel on our way to Big Bend. Had always heard about the Gage Hotel, and how great it is. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the ambiance and courtesy of the Staff. We stayed in the hotel proper, Room #8. The hotel is decorated in 'Cowboy Chic'. Our...

Beautiful facility, gracious employes. My room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. There really is not anything in Marathon besides the hotel and their 12 Gage Restaurant. Enjoyed the beautifully appointed TV room off the lobby.

The gauge is I have storage hotel that has a good story behind it. It is in the small town of Marathon about an hour and a half away from Big Bend national Park. It is definitely worth a nights stay. It is a little pricey but it is a very nice historic hotel. There are no TVs in the...

Such a charming hotel with a great restaurant, bar and coffee shop attached. We booked last minute and stayed in a downstairs room in the original hotel building. Small but comfy room with a large shower. Friendly front desk staff. Would love to return and spend some time at the pool and check out the courtyard rooms.

We stayed in #25 in the courtyard over the weekend. I sure wish I had known about this hotel before. I can't say enough wonderful things about it. Perfect, beautiful, excellent food in 12 Gage Restaurant, etc. The landscaping is breathtaking. We will definitely be back!

The Gage is an oasis of comfort in an area without much in the way of nice accommodation and good service. We had a suite with a king bed and and a day bed and both beds were really comfortable, with nice mattresses and linens. The bathroom is spacious and comes with two fluffy white robes. The service and atmosphere...

We arrived for our two night stay at the Gage to learn it was spring break week in Texas and this normally quiet, elegant, adult hotel was filled to the brim with families and a lot of energetic children. Our pre-paid room at the Shepard house seemed to house a large group of (noisy) families. I walked backed to the...

My husband and I and our 8 year old and 5 year old stayed here for two nights over spring break. We had the owners suite in the Los Portales section of the hotel and loved it. The room was comfortable with a small kitchenette area, outdoor patio, and front seating area outside. We ate dinner both nights at the...

Beautiful, peaceful, refreshing oasis! This historic hotel was just what we needed after a few days of hiking & camping in Big Bend. Beautiful rooms, gardens, courtyards, and pool. Our daughters loved the sand volleyball, horseshoes, life size chess/checkers across the street. Can't wait to come back!
