This is a fantastic find! We were a family of 7 staying at the Plantation and every thing here is wonderful. You can see a video on YouTube. Angie the owner is a sweet heart and made sure our family was taken care of. The beds are wonderful and the Hill Country around the Llano River - priceless. Now what...

We recently spent a weekend with friends at the Walden Plantation. The plantation is located on a stretch of the Llano river close to a low water crossing. Fishing is available on the river, along with other water sports like kayaking or tubing. Very quiet, scenic location, just right for getting away from the city. The rooms are nicely appointed,...

First let me say that the lady that used to manage the place and had all the bad reviews is no longer there. My understanding is that it was a mutual choice for her to leave. The lady that helped us the 3 nights we were there was extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was comfy, the room was very...

Walden Plantation stands nestled in the Texas Hill country, far from traffic noise and street lights. We quietly enjoyed watching hawks float above the river while sipping a chilled Texas Chardonnay. Living in a city, we also enjoyed the country-road drive to Walden Plantation itself. At my request, Carol setup a wonderful "romance package" with chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne for...

The gourmet breakfast is first-rate. However, to get dinner you must drive 10 miles to Llano. The outdoor pool is clearly the centerpiece of the hotel, but was dirty for all the days we were there -- the pool-sweep was never moving and we couldn't see the bottom of the pool. The spa was dirty and not hot; a guest...

We stayed at Walden Plantation for 1 night during a motorcycle tour of Hill Country. We had a beautifully appointed room filled with everything we needed. We also enjoyed visiting with Carol, the manager, who was warm and inviting and teated us like family. We have already recommended this place to another couple as a future travel destination. It's a...

We recently visited the Walden Plantation for an anniversary getaway, and we were just thrilled with the accommodations here! I loved how remote it felt - like we were really getting away from the city, and I was especially appreciative of Carole's kind hospitality. She made us feel so welcome and we spent a great night around the fire chatting...

Personally I have been to this establishment on several occasions not only with my daughter but the couple and heard these quotes and agreed upon requests granted only to change in the end. This is something that I have never seen done in all my years of management, in my opinion the owner should reconsider his management at this establishment....

The Walden Plantation is a great place to stay if you're wanting to enjoy the Hill Country without staying in a flowery, rustic B&B in Fredericksburg. We picked the spot because it looked a little more modern and had the river right behind it. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfasts amazing and the grounds well-kept. We, like some other...

This is a great place to relax and sit a spell or use as a launching point to other destinations. The rooms are elegantly appointed with King size super comfy beds and best described as casual elegant with a gentle southwestern flavor. If you are looking for rustic - this is not the place. The swimming pool is small -...
