The place is very conveniently located within walking distance to many restaurants. The staff is courteous and friendly and the place is maintained well. I think the place is a magnet for combination of bargain biz clients as well as tourists. Not much of a party hostel, but maybe due to visiting during midweek.

Only stayed here for one night with two friends but couldn't have been happier. The hostel has everything you need and more. Comfy beds with big bathrooms! Great modern amenities open for use by all guests. Great location close to some great restaurants and bars and it feel very safe to walk around. I couldn't recommend it higher!

I wasn't really a fan of Houston, but this hostel was great. There weren't many bathrooms around, most were ensuite (*awkward*) but not much else to fault. There was a hoodoo around the laundry - the door was locked and no one could find the key and then when I was told to wait until the next morning cos someone...

I took it because was the closest place available of my visit to Houston, but I got an extraordinarily surprise: it's a huge building in the middle of one of the most exclusives areas of the city surrounded for great mansions... an still have Hostel Prices! I only stayed here for one night but as soon as I walked through the door I was made to feel welcome and the feel of the hostel makes it feel more like a home. Whilst I was there they were celebrating being a year old (or something similar), and they gave us free cake which was really nice. The...

I had originally booked a few days at this hostel, but ended up staying for about 2 weeks. Even after two weeks, I have only positive things to say about this place. It is clean with nice communal areas-- pool table, board games, swimming pool, bbq. Plus a laid back vibe. The best part, however, was the staff. They were...

The Morty Rich Hostel is basically a 3 story mansion that was owned by a former City of Houston mayor. It later transformed into a staycation before being bought by Hostelling International. The building is large enough...

Thank you so much for this well laid-out detailed review! Great breakdown on everything, and I assure you we're trying to figure out a way to keep the noise down on the beds. Be sure to visit us again and hopefully stay a bit longer!

This hostel is in the heart of the montrose district. Great food and clubs in walking distance. It is located in a posh and safe neighborhood. It is a stately old home with pool and private grounds. Easy access to the 82 bus route gets you anywhere downtown.

This was the first HI I've stayed in that I've actually felt has an actual social feel to it. It's got a pool and the whole patio is ideal really. Rooms are clean, beds are great. Houston is massive and you really need a car to access most of it but it's located in a lively enough area after a...

Great hostel conveniently situated to buses and tram/train. Super shuttle will drop you at the door for $23 each. Friendly staff, adequate breakfast. Would be nice to see a bit more maintenance being done to preserve this gorgeous old building.
