I had a good experience - stayed at the Lancaster last time. This was a bit more expensive, but rooms were updated, free breakfast, happy hour and cookies at night (the way to my heart definitely involves my stomach). The staff was friendly, they offered complimentary car service downtown. I was on crutches, everyone was helpful getting me around. I... More

Stayed at the Magnolia for a Texan's game weekend. Room was great, hotel is very well located in the older section of Downtown on the east side of Main St. and close to the light rail to Reliant. Staff were helpful. A much better choice than the large, "Name" hotels in the area. We plan to return often!

The staff are trying, I think. And it's almost working, but not quite. Pros: -Good, safe location - across street from Episcopal Cathedral -Staff were very friendly and accommodating -Spacious room - studio suite, 550 sq. ft., with small kitchenette and fridge -Quiet except for the casino night revelers rolling back to their rooms at 2am -Very comfortable bedding -Sumptuous... We took a one-night get away before the crazy part of the Holidays set in. We really loved this hotel. The lobby is stunning, and we enjoyed the evening reception, free drinks, fire in the fireplace and soft Christmas music. Totally relaxed us and got us in the holiday spirit. Room was immaculate and stylish. Awesome shower. Great, hearty breakfast... More

Every year my husbands company has a party downtown. I enjoy the ambiance and service that comes from Magnolia so much more than that of major hotel chains. Even with all the commotion from the events that were occurring the staff is still willing to provide excellent service. We were craving hot chocolate at 1230am and needed milk...even though the... We were able to get a studio suite with a King bed and it was great. I have zero complaints about this property. I wish that I would have known about the hot tub on the roof with the great view of Houston when we got there because I didn't happen upon it until the morning we were leaving. Take... More

This is a perfect place to stay if you are going to be in downtown Houston. The rooms are spacious and the shower is great. Another bonus is the free breakfast on the second floor. The staff was courteous especially the valet guys out front. Couldn't be happier, and will definitely stay there again.
