With a few specific changes, this good hotel could be great: - High-speed wifi should be free, period. A consistent Internet connection was a major issue throughout my five night stay; the free wifi option is too slow; trying to upgrade to the mid-tier option (2 mbs @ $6/day) or the top-tier option (10 mbs @ $13/day) was problematic; I...

The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The bedding was plush--so comfortable to just laze around. The breakfast buffet was better than most--and included in the room rate. I was skeptical of the happy hour based on another review but it was great. The wines offered were very good (and I am very particular) and there were several beer...

Situated on Texas Ave close to Main St, this hotel is very well positioned for Downtown and attractions such as Minute Maid Park. The rooms are very comfortable, and some have good views over Downtown and the surrounding Houston City. Facilities are pretty modest though. The roof top pool is very small, the gym is small but ok. There is...

We got to the Magnolia on a friday afternoon, everything went smooth with check in and checking out on sunday. It was wonderful to have the complementary breakfast, the two free drinks at happy hour and the milk and cookies in the evening. For the price I was expecting a little more character in the rooms, and when we would...

I lost my camera & backpack early on this trip and 3 weeks later got a long distance phone call from the local cinema-the sundance on texas ave. not only did...

Stayed here several times. Rating depends on price which can vary wildly from $100 per night to over $300 per night. Low end represents excellent value, high end is overpriced for what is a fairly sterile hotel with little character. Location is good, rooms are fine (typical Texan - large and comfortable) and service OK, without really being over friendly....

Excellent value at this hotel. Front desk staff really went the extra mile and accommodated every request with professionalism and good humor. Enjoyed every encounter I had with staff (one glaring exception below). Room was clean and very comfortable. I thought the breaskfast could have had more variety. Omelet station man could use some basic customer service training on topics...

Wonderful boutique hotel - so accommodating! Would stay again! Room are extremely, quiet, spacious and very comfortable beds. Cab ride to Galleria $20 for 2, but hotel shuttle does go with in several blocks of hotel and were very quick and responsive when needing a ride. Nice bar and free breakfast buffet
