My 2nd time staying at this location for a business trip but the first during the Christmas holiday season. Great holiday decorations greet all visitor to stroll through the hotel and enjoy the scenery. Room was large and quiet allowing for a good night's sleep. Dinner at Old Hickory Steakhouse was great and allowed us to conduct our business meeting...

The ICE exhibit It's a very expensive event. The sculptures are beautiful and the slides are fun but if there is a long line, it is NOT worth your time or money. If you can walk in and enjoy their short exhibit, it could be worth it, but I will not return, knowing how expensive, short and crowded it can...

I had the privilege of staying here while attending a conference. The resort is the perfect size for a conference - large enough that several conferences can be held without being too crowded, but not so large that you have to journey for what seems like miles from your room to the conference center. The resort was sold out during...

Upon arrival, I was notified that I was the Silver Member of the Day. What a treat! I was given a hand written note thanking me for being a member, a special treat of Smokey Almonds and an upgrade to a 1 bedroom. OMG!! It's the holiday season and this resort is beautifully decorated for it. I wish I had...

Sit down, this is going to help you make your decision about staying at the Gaylord Texan for your next trip... Where to start...First, we booked our Thanksgiving stay in late Sep...checked in on Thanksgiving day. There were three families in our group with requested (in Sep mind you) rooms close together if not adjoining. At check-in, we were told...

Ntxav8r60, Thank you for your detailed review about your Holiday stay at our resort. I do want to apologize about the issues you experienced with your rooms location, your amenities requested and our restaurant accommodations. I did want to explain some information about your stay. The decorations and activities during the holidays are definitely worth the trip. My family has enjoyed going for the last 4 years and my kids would not think the Christmas season was complete if we didn't visit. The atrium area is eye-popping--especially for children and beautifully lit at night. Out of the activities I would say the snow tubing is...

Large convention space themed hotel. Rooms are average - clean well laid out with decent amenities. Is a huge facilty with a theme park feel. As a Texan it feels a bit like a caricature. If you prefer to see Paris by visiting Vegas or Disney's Epcot rather than going to France then the Gaylord is for you. If you...

We actually live less than 10 miles from this hotel. But it is a wonderful getaway. Beautiful scenery inside which is decorated by the season! Many places to eat and shop. Nice outdoor pool. Rooms are perfect size and beds are comfortable. Service is always served with courteous Texas chat and a smile! A little one the high side but...

We came for the annual ICE exhibit. We thought it was fantastic as always. The exhibit this year is "Frosty the Snow Man". Take your kids out to see it you will not be disappointed. An ICE nativity was at the end of the display with the story of Christmas running overhead. All in all very enjoyable. Not sure it...

We stay here at least once a year. It's big, beautiful, entertaining... and expensive. We go there several times a year to walk through the main atrium, which is the best part! There's no fee to enter, a few restaurants, and Texan structures that are designed to look like the River Walk, the Alamo, etc. There's a train display, too....
