A Moody Membership will get you into all of the regular attractions (Rainforest Pyramid, Aquarium Pyramid, Discovery Museum, SpongeBob Sub Pants Adventure, Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, Ropes Course, 3D Films, 4D Films; then seasonal attractions when they are open, Dinos Alive, Palm Beach, Festival of Lights, Iceland). The family membership is good for up to 5 people so your 6th person would have to be at the regular rate ... unless you are including children 3 & younger (anyone 47 months or younger are free); however, if you are planning to go to the attractions 2 or more days then the membership is definitely the way to go. The Moody Membership has many perks, some include discounts at the Moody Gardens Hotel, the Spa at the hotel, the restaurants and gift shops; the membership activated the date of purchase for one full year, so I would wait to purchase it until you on property.
Schiltterbahn is not affiliated with Moody Gardens so no discounts for individual tickets are available. The hotel does offer a Schiltterbahn Couples or Family package; the package includes 2 adult tickets with the Couples package or 2 adult & 2 childrens tickets with the Family package, plus the room for the night and valet parking. Unfortunately, room discounts cannot be doubled so you would not be able to get the Schiltterbahn package plus the Moody Member rate for the same night's stay.

It is true that the hotel sits about a mile back from the Seawall. The views are as follows, the Island view faces towards the south overlooking the Island and the higher the floor, the further across the Island you will be able to see - and if you happen to be on a higher floor (7th/8th9th) you can see the Gulf of Mexico.. not the beach but the water. The Pyramid view faces towards the north and overlooks the 3 attraction pyramids, the lower floors have balconies are cost more but if you are higher you will less parking lot and more of the pyramids and beyond. Then there is the North tower, this wing is perpendicular the to main part of the hotel. The Pyramid North view still has views of the pyramids but you can also view part of the Galveston airport and get a spectacular view of sunset from your room. The Bayou view faces to the northeast & consists of the floors 5-7 in the north tower to overlook Offats Bayou and beyond.
If you are not from around here, getting an Island view on the 8th floor is awesome as the hotel is at an angle on and you can see the sunrise over the water of the gulf. For the kiddos, nothing beats opening the room curtains to find 3 huge pyramids across the parking lot.
If you are looking for a room but do not care about the view, floors 1-4 in the north tower are classified as 'obstructed' or 'no view' rooms and are typically are the lowest costing rooms - however some of them on the 1st or 2nd floor to have a balcony.
Moody Gardens does not offer long term parking.
The hotel does offer a Cruise Package and includes the room for the night, valet parking the day of arrival & parking during your cruise and transportation to & from the cruise terminal. Otherwise, if booking a third party or at a discounted rate (as in AAA or AARP memberships), you can add cruise parking & transportation for $50 and is good for up to 5 people.
