Seven Bluff Campground does not have any real "hiking trails" but there are a lot of quality hiking opportunities in the immediate area. Garner State Park is just a very short drive away and it has miles of interesting trails that include mysterious caves and amazing views from the top of "Old Baldy". The trail to the top is a bit technical (steep, slippery rock ledges abound) so "keep ya wits about ya" and keep the kids under control. A bit farther away, but still close by, is a little known jewel of the Texas parks system. Lost Maples State Park is one of my favorites for hiking with many miles of awesome trail that have something new and cool around every bend. Interesting rock formations, waterfalls, springs, streams, birds, animals, steep climbs and wonderful vistas that make the climbs worthwhile. You will never contend with crowds here unless you come during the Fall Color rush when the famous Maples erupt in wild colors-something that is pretty rare in the Texas Hill Country. Between these hiking options, and the many paddling opportunities along the Frio, we spend a full week camping here every year and never run out of cool things to do.
