Three generations family of eight stayed at weekend. Good clean rooms & facilities. Good honest tasty pub grub, but due to being very busy the service was sometimes slow. Friendly and helpful staff. Good menu. Caravan site area had plenty of cheerful families on it. Lovely location & views over valley.

The location is beautiful as was the room in which we stayed. It was spacious and very well appointed. The bathroom was small but very good. The shower was top notch. A great start to the day. The Inn was old in part with a room added to the rear with picture windows which gave us the most beautiful view... More

I know that I am being a little unfair but I was slightly put off at time of booking. You have to pay for the first night in advance (as we were only staying one night this meant paying all in full 5 months in advance), I commented at the time of booking that this was rare. They rather abruptly... More

Better deal if you ring up rather than book online. £65.00 B&B. Lovely location but really is in the middle of nowhere so not ideal for families! Forbidden corner a 40 minute drive away. Bedroom was lovely and spacious! The only problem was it being two twin beds put together but one being a lot lower than the other one.... More

We stayed at the Black swan with friends over the weekend and really enjoyed our stay. We arrived on the Friday night and had a few drinks and a meal in the bar, which was friendly and relaxing. The food was home cooked and very tasty. My partner and I were staying bed and breakfast which again the food was... More

We took two rooms, one for myself and my wife and the other for my 84 year old father-in-law. The rooms were large and the beds huge and comfortable. The showers were great. We were given a very warm welcome and shown the rooms then had a beer in the garden looking over the on-site caravan site to the beautiful... More

Came for buffet lunch. Food was only very average and not cheap. Several local beers which were well kept. They have a caravan site and rooms to let in an annexe.Special rates for local "festivals". Would strongly recommend local countryside.

Excellent rooms, great size and quality for the price. Good toiletries and very comfortable bed. Meals are typical yorkshire bar food, with plenty to choose from. Friendly staff and owner. A livey locals bar but friendly to others.
