My wife and I take occasional 'planned' "Road Trips". A couple of days here, a couple of days there and yes we do like to have reservations at hotels, but otherwise, it can be pretty spontaneous. This was a great one. With about a week's notice we were accommodated by a lovely couple, John and Virginia, who have turned this... More

We stayed for 3 nights for our 15th anniversary. The lake was up, so right beside the lodge was a wonderful place to launch our kayak. The breeze on the pier was amazing, pictures cannot do it justice, even in the Texas summer it was cool and pleasant on the pier. A great location, out in the country but still... More

The room was not fancy, but very clean. We were treated like family. Love the sunset view from the deck and coffee the next morning. Breakfast was a 9.5 (I prefer real butter.) We are looking forward to our next stay.

I stayed here with two teenage girls who had a great time. They enjoyed the wildlife and the view off the pier. Virginie and John were great and served us a great breakfast. I will stay again as soon as possible. Highly recommend anyone to visit. Sheri Wescott

I was here many years ago. It was an unbelievalbe treat to be back and find this gem more charming. The owners are the same couple that were there so many years ago, John & Virginia. Breakfast was still incredibly delicious. I only planned on staying one night but had to stay a few more days. I love this wonderful... More

First of all, if you are used to modern hotel rooms, this would not be the place to go. It is like stepping into grandma's room in the 1950's, old, but clean, with the pink and aqua bathroom to go along with it. Even though it was January, we stayed warm enough in our room with the heat, and tons... More

Thank you so much for your nice review. We really appreciate our guests input. So sorry about the shower, but thanks to your informative comment a new shower head has been installed. Plenty of water now. More

Lakeside is a rustic hideaway that served as a perfect place to stay for our event at Reveille Peak Ranch. We didn't have to fight traffic or leave early. John and Virginia were great hosts and true to their word, we saw a lot of wildlife, especially deer. The breakfast was awesome and more than we could eat. We enjoyed... More

This place is magical! The owners are down to earth and hospitable. We were promptly greeted with a tour of the property. The area is picturesque! John and Virginia do everything all by themselves...everything! Our room was as clean as a nice hotel. The beds were soooo comfortable. We never once felt like a customer in a hotel...we felt like... My fiance and I spent the weekend of July 31-August 2 at Lakeside Lodge and we couldn't have had a better experience. John and Virginia are hospitable, sweet and made sure our stay was relaxing, enjoyable and memorable. The rooms are somewhat old but very clean and neat. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. The only thing I can... More

John and Virginia were fabulous!! The breakfast was amazing. Great little out of the way place. We have been two times and it was fabulous both. The lake was a bit low. Can't wait to see it with water. The rooms were clean and quaint with an ocean/beach theme! Looking forward to going back soon!!!
