It is difficult to put into words just how special the Gaia Riverlodge is to my family. We stayed only three nights, and wished that it could have been longer. As a guest, you are in a cared for by an excellent, attentive staff in surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. We stayed with our 13-year-old daughter at the Riverside Villa....

We went to the Gaia Riverlodge for our honeymoon and got one of their packages that included several nights at the Matachica, their sister resort at the beach. The Gaia guide picked us up at the airport and drove us to the lodge, which took about an hour over some very bumpy roads. When you go there, be ready to...

We visited the Gaia Riverlodge at the end of March 2014. There were 4 of us traveling together....two couples. We have traveled the world but have never had better service, felt more welcomed, and cared for then we were there. The team led by Nigel, and including Derby, Sylvia, Chef Tony, Javier, Francisco, Sonia, Lucy, Calbert and Elmo made this...

My girlfriend and I stayed at Gaia Riverlodge for 2 nights at the end of February. We stayed in a Garden View room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room itself was perfect, with a beautifully thatched roof, comfortable and cozy sitting area, great bathroom amenities and very comfortable bed. A favorite part of our stay was a stormy afternoon,...

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed Gaia River Lodge. The hotel is very remote - located an hour's drive from any major road by (bumpy!) dirt road, but the journey was part of the fun and well worth it. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful - tropical flowers and thatched huts abound in the strange Caribbean pine forest setting....

We stayed at the Gaia Riverlodge for the first four nights of our honeymoon earlier this month. We were originally drawn to this hotel after looking at their sister hotel, Matachica in San Pedro. After deciding we wanted something more of an "escape" and less of a "beach trip" we booked half our trip at this resort, and traveled on...

This is a world-class lodge tucked away in the mountains of Belize. The service is impeccable. The food is excellent. The birding guide was great. The drinks seemed to lack alcohol, but everything else was great. No A/C made it a bit humid at night but the ceiling fans are good.

The hotel makes the most of its position on a hilltop overlooking the falls and the comfort and quality of the cabanas are excellent. The breakfasts were good but I was disappointed with both the quality and cost of the evening meals that can best be summoned up as pretentious. If you want squiggles over your food then this is the...

We spent the first four days of our honeymoon at Gaia. The property was unique and very fun. We took multiple walks down to the gorgeous waterfall where we went swimming as well as the nature walk (very muddy in winter) and we also borrowed bikes. The food was good but not amazing for the price (except for breakfast which...
