Great service. Great place. Great atmosphere. Comfortable. Welcoming. Can’t wait to go back. So many things to do, and at your pace. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Very kid friendly. Food was so good. Horses were so calm. Two of the best dogs ever.

This was going to be a solo trip for me for my birthday so I could spend all week riding horses and being stinky, without the major responsibilities I have had over the last 2 years. Initially I was headed to NM to work on a ranch, but I started inviting friends and they started saying yes, so my travel agent booked this trip for us. I'm really glad too. Where to start ... Most of us are equestrians and the thought of riding in a line did bother me, but the wranglers took great care to match us with the right horses, and arranged private rides. Thank you to Ray, Tammy, Hollywood and Bubba! A special thanks to Tammy for her help. The home cooked meals were excellent (and they were so accommodating since most of us do not eat beef). Sadly I cannot remember everyone's names, but the ladies that cook, run the kitchen, serve, clean the cabins, etc. are top notch! The owner, the front staff, everyone were so kind and great. Even the cat we were assigned to care for (joking) and Pecos and Pancho the dogs. The gift shop was super cute, the pool excellent and a nice break, and the horses are so sweet and we enjoyed helping with feeding. The cabin was rustic, we stayed in the back in the 49er, but it fit us perfectly. We all loved it and will probably head back that way again some time. Thank you again everyone at the Dixie Dude Ranch from the nutty horse chicks from Dallas.

My best friend and I were suffering from COVID depression as our Ireland/Scotland trip was cancelled for the third time. Joking around we said "let's go to a Dude Ranch". Searching the internet we discovered that Bandera, TX had some of the best Dude Ranches in the US. Found Dixie Dude and booked the same day!! As we arrived and travelled down the entrance road to the ranch our first though was, wow, this is rustic! And that is is. It's absolutely perfect! The food was amazing....3 meals a day included in the price. We had to skip one meal a day because it was just too much food. (Full breakfast served family style, BBQ, the best fried chicken, fried catfish and much, much more!) You will not find that anywhere. We stayed in the Wrangler cabin. Perfect for 2 single women with 2 bedrooms and a shared bath. The front porch chairs and swing were phenomenal! The staff was also amazing! Extremely accommodating and friendly! The 2 horseback rides a day were spectacular and also included in the price! Can't say enough about how great the ranch hands were. No TV in the rooms and little internet even in the community room which was perfect for me so I could disengage from a high pressure job! This adventure was so, so much more than we expected. Animals roaming free on the 750 acre ranch, entertainment every night including a professional roper and a hay ride and meeting new people who were loving it as much as we were. Bring your boots and jeans as you WILL get dirty, but you will also get a great nights sleep after being in the TX hills all day. We stayed for 4 nights and our last morning included a horse back ride into the hills and a complete chuck wagon breakfast. Soooooo much fun! They do not serve alcohol on the ranch, but you are free to being your own. They provide coolers and ice. We brought our own Mimosa's to breakfast and wine to dinner and all was good. Highly recommend this ranch....we are going to make it an annual trip! Cannot beat the value and service we received. Go and enjoy a superb getaway! Dixie Dude team: if you read this review - thank you!

My family consisting of me, my husband, our three year old daughter, and my husband’s 16 year old sister spent two nights at DDR. We loved everything about our stay. The highlight of course is the horseback riding, but we also enjoyed hiking, swimming, ping pong, visiting animals, roasting marshmallows at the campfire, and a hay ride to see the Longhorns on the ranch. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served family style and the food was delicious. The staff is super friendly as well. Before booking keep in mind, this is a working ranch and thought it has all the comforts you need for a nice stay, it has a rustic feel. We personally love this and though we certainly enjoy staying at modern resorts, this isn’t what you should expect or want at a ranch stay. You’re there to enjoy country life, which comes with some dust— embrace it. Our teen was fiending out for internet at first but ended up enjoying being disconnected for a while (though she could stop at the main house for WiFi when she absolutely had to check Snapchat lol). We didn’t want to leave when it was time to go.

With not much open due to Covid it is nice to know that a place like this can give you some sense of normalcy. The food was amazing, I can't say enough how awesome the staff is, and the atmosphere was perfect. Coming from NYC it was just what we needed in our vacation.
