Just back from the ladies weekend retreat and it was fabulous. The setting is breath taking...the cabins are regionally authentic, well designed, well stocked with food and drink, spacious for a group and comfortable...the riding and activities were wonderful. Bandera is a charming town with good restaurants and live music offerings. The trip from the airport is a little over...

We spent 4 nights at the Equestrian Lodge over the long Labor Day weekend. The place is just 15min drive from Bandera, but you feel like you are on genuine remote ranch, no mobile coverage :), for those who need to be connected there is wi-fi in the ranch house. Perfect spot for escape from city life and… for star...

We are frequent visitors to the Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. We ride horses, mountain bike or hike the trails in the state park, grill outside and enjoy a glass of wine on the porch of the delightful cabin. This is a terrific, secluded retreat!

We spent three nights at the Equestrian Lodge. Coming from Norway, this was exactly what we were hoping for. We did horseback riding, inner tubing and visited Bandera Gun club for some shooting practice. Everything was awesome, including wonderful Dianne who was very attentive and helpful. The cabins were perfect and the landscape true Texas hill country. We had a...

This place is in the middle of nowhere, thus a little far to get to, but it was definitely one of the best locations (if you really want a remote place). On the way there, we saw that other ranches were located next to the road (thus, not as secluded). Stayed 2 nights at the Rose cabin and it was...

Thanks for your honest feedback on your stay. To clarify some things for those reading your review: OUR LOCATION: We are about 1 hour from San Antonio International Airport, 10 miles from the thriving town of Bandera. Yes, we have about a mile of gravel road to get to our ranch from the pavement, which saves us from being inundated...

We have been to hill country equestrian lodge over 5 times. Dianne and Peter are always so gracious. We bring our horses, ride and leaves chaos behind. Anyone that wants close proximity to park and quiet, HCEL is for you. The cabins have a basic kitchen, outside grills, and front and rare porches. We always enjoy the hot tub and...

My family and I had at long last returned to our native South after nearly thirty years in New York. My daughter (just turning six) is of the age where everything is horses, unicorns and fairies. What better way to celebrate our return to Dixie than a trip out to the Hill Country and stay at a ranch were we...

This suited our family's needs to a tee. Spacious two bedroom, two bath, with kitchen, sunlit, immaculate cabin. And our dog was allowed. The highlights were one on one professional horse training, and a two person trail ride. You need to consider that this is a small venue, 4 cabins and 4 half cabins. There are no on site activities...

We visited HCEL last week for 4 days as a "girls trip" with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, her daughter (almost 13) and my daughter (11). You check in at the original, century-old farmhouse, and we were welcomed by Karen, who gave us a map to the property, as well as additional info about the area (restaurants, things to do, etc.) We...

I took my girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday, and the peace and quiet here is second to none; sitting on the porch of our suite reading and watching the horses graze right outside our door was totally relaxing. Having a quiet dinner and watching an amazing sunset really made the day something to remember. The stillness and complete darkness...
