Really exceeded expectations. A little older resort that has been remodeled. Everything was spotless and customer service was terrific. Big comfy bed, spacious room. A major plus is the gorgeous landscaping and beautiful views!
My husband and I booked an overnight stay after he was involved in a bad accident. We were looking to relax and recover. We arrived at 2:20 and could not check in. At 2:38 another couple checked in. I went back in and the clerk told me that he told me they were working on our room. (Not true) I asked to speak to a manager but was told that he wasn't available. I thought with Covid there was a requirement for 24 hours between stays. Apparently not here. So much for relaxing.
Last minute trip to Gatlinburg, most places were booked, this wasn't, clue 1. Rented jacuzzi spa suite. First off, thankfully the pool was closed, as your door and a window were right there poolside. Huge windows to a balcony on our room, the balcony door did not lock. So anyone could be on balcony and see into room. Jacuzzi looked worn out. Bathroom very small, hot water took awhile to heat up, extremely outdated. Place was probably very cool in 1979. Booked 2 nights, left at 730 on 2nd night. Very disappointed.
Hubs, the Boston terrier pups, and myself were making a quick trip up for the purpose of bike riding thru Cades Cove and this place was perfect for distance and bringing our pups. They waved the “pet fee” bc they were not providing breakfast and also gave us milk bone treats. They had plenty of grassy area to walk the dogs and even a pet station with bags for clean up. The rooms look recently renovated and wood floors. It’s not the fanciest place have ever stayed, but good for what we needed. Being a motel and having quick access to outside was key. We had plenty of room for us, the dogs, and our bikes. So, if you want quick access to Cades Cove, this place is the ticket!
This is a large “resort” with several buildings. We were in Building 3 and given a “pet friendly” room due to availability. Blah, it smelled like a kennel. The room was very dated and no amount of cleaning could improve it. Definitely did not even remotely look like the photos on the website. The rate said it included breakfast but they are not serving breakfast “due to covid”. Be aware that the office closes at 5 or 8pm depending on the day so be sure to call ahead if you will be arriving late.
