We do several road trips a year and know the value of accommodations considering location, day of the week, season etc. We don’t mind paying for quality but this was not even close! We got in late, checked in and found a dehumidifier running in the room. Obviously there was a mildew problem along with torn wallpaper and scuffed furniture, stained bathtub. This was built in the 1980’s and no money seems to have been put into rooms since other than maybe laminate flooring. The beds and pillows were like sleeping on stone slabs. Even the soap and shampoo was subpar and cheap. The view was nice and the room was clean but still didn’t make up for the feeling we were overcharged and for breathing in mildew
It was such a blessing to have stayed here. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything about our stay was perfect. Our room was very clean, cozy and very quiet. We will definitely be back!
This was our first time visiting this establishment and we were completely satisfied with our stay. The staff was courteous and friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. The room we stayed in had a balcony with two chairs. The next time we visit the Smoky Mountains we will stay here.
This was our first stay at Highland Manor and we are extremely satisfied with our stay. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable. The staff are friendly and the continental breakfast was great. This hotel will be my one and only choice when coming to the Smoky Mountains.
Good location near cades cove. The room had a fridge and microwave which were extremely handy. Parking took a little effort but not much. Walls were thin so if you have a noisy neighbor you might wish you had ear plugs. The only thing that bothered me was that a poor little bird was kept in captivity in a tiny box in the reception. It struck me as cruel that this beautiful being could barely fly. He/she will die in that box without ever really being able to fly, which made me incredibly sad, all just for the sake of tourists' "entertainment." It seemed so out of place to me to have a trapped animal in the middle of wilderness where animals should be living free.
