Skip Gatlinburg and stay on the quiet side of the Smokies! This place is very understated, but excellent! The room was spacious and quiet, with a comfortable bed. They bring a basket of goodies to your room. There was a king bed and a small refrigerator. I liked this area, very low key, no chain motels and restaurants. We only...

We stayed at this hotel May 20-23 and then returned for one more night on May 25 because we wanted to end our trip on a high note. This is absolutely one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in. The owners are so welcoming and helpful and they immediately make you feel at home. We received a gift...

We stayed two nights at the Townsend Gateway Inn for an early 30th anniversary celebration. This is a wonderful family owned motel located at the foothills of the Smokies. Comfortable, clean very personable owners. They have thought of everything. Literally all you need are your clothes and toothbrush. If you are looking for super modern, fancy with lots of tourist...

My husband and I, along with two other couples, stayed at the Townsend Gateway Inn for three nights. We found this family-run establishment to be an excellent place to relax and enjoy ourselves. I'm one of those travelers that usually obsesses over not having hotel bedspreads ever becoming a part of my sleeping ritual (if you catch my drift!). The...

The Townsend Inn is such a welcoming place to stay. The owners were very friendly and ready to assist with any questions about the area and made recommendations for restaurants. The rooms were recently updated and found to be very clean. It was a perfect location for us to enjoy a car event and of course, the mountains.

Once again, we loved our stay at the Townsend Gateway Inn. Owners are super friendly and the rooms are large and clean. One complaint I have had in the past has been slow and iffy WiFi. They must have upgraded because it is very fast now. That is a welcome addition. We like the fridge and microwave for fixing breakfast....

We stay here every year on our trip to the Smokies. It is an older motel that they have done a great job remodeling. The owners are very friendly and can help you select things to do and places to eat. It is in a great location to visit the Smokey Mtns.

Based on reviews from other TripAdvisor travelers I booked two days last week at Townsend Gateway Inn in Townsend, TN. The hotel is small, quaint, convenient to Cades Cove and only 15 miles to Pigeon Forge. What impressed me most was how clean and comfortable the entire place looks. The office is adorable, the grounds are immaculate and the rocking...

What a charming place! Owner is very friendly and rooms are clean and comfortable! Received a basket with coffee and snacks when we checked in. The motel is an older building, but has been completely renovated. Great price for a good, basic room. You can't go wrong staying here!

This was a very last minute trip and I knew nothing about the area. So, I went on to Trip Advisor, saw the high ratings for the Townsend Gateway Inn and booked immediately. We were greeted by the most friendly, welcoming Inn keepers and they made us feel like family immediately. The rooms are cozy, extremely clean and comfortable. The...
