Under Canvas gave us a unique experience in the Smoky Mountains. Glamping was a fun compromise between camping and a cabin. We felt comfortable social distancing during the pandemic in our own tent, while still enjoying amenities like showers and dining. The wood stove in the tent was perfect for the chilly April nights. The safari tent used a bathhouse instead of bathroom in the tent, and everything was clean and well maintained. Dining had a few options for breakfast and dinner, and everything we tried was delicious and fairly priced. Staff was helpful with hiking tips, friendly chats and any random questions. Location outside Gatlinburg was nicely in the woods with a clear area for stargazing in the middle of the camp. A little bit of a drive to the national park, but not too far to be inconvenient. Will definitely look at other locations to stay again.

We stayed 4 nights. Wonderful staff. Thanks Ben for the great omelet. Beautiful campfire and stars. Great hiking. Cold at nighttime in our tent. Beds very comfortable. Wood fire stove was fun but a challenge to heat room. Great guitarist. Staff gets an A+.

This is a great getaway or destination camping/glamping experience. My family (wife/daughter) spent two nights. This was our second time visiting the camp. The setting/location is beautiful and the tents are very nice. However, there is not much privacy between tents unless you are in one of the tens in the woods. The food is very good, but expensive. There are not many things to do on site, so you have to bring some of your own entertainment/backyard games. We would come back again.

I would highly recommend this location to families! Remember though that it's still campground-like and pack headlamps and warm comfortable shoes/cozy sweaters for cool mountain mornings. The amenities were fantastic and the staff both helpful and friendly. And the food and drink choices were delicious and such a treat to have onsite. We hope to stay with Under Canvas again in another location while we explore America's beautiful parks!

Under Canvas Great Smoky Mountains is a terrific option if visiting the national park! The tents are comfortable and well appointed. The camp is pretty, well cared for, and not too big. The food and beverage offered by Under Canvas is OUTSTANDING. The surrounding dining scene is pretty much geared to fast food in the area, so it was an absolute delight to start and end each day with delicious, creative food/drink. The staff at Under Canvas is professional, friendly, welcoming, and happy to assist in any way you need to make your vacation fun and enjoyable.
