The Hayes Street Hotel stands out for its prime location and unique, modern-retro ambiance that has charmed numerous guests. While the rooms are spacious and the hotel's cleanliness consistently earns high marks, some travelers have suggested that a refresh could enhance the overall experience. The staff's warmth is often acknowledged, though there are occasional mentions of service inconsistencies. Amenities like pet-friendly policies and complimentary breakfast add to the hotel's appeal, but the value perception is occasionally marred by the cost of valet parking.

This Hotel is really very nice, clean, and the staff are great! The lobby is really cool with an area to sit and hang out that's "library" like, a few "porch" swings, and a bar with great bartenders. The rooms are spacious and the walls are not too thin so it's easy to get a good night's sleep!!
Why wouldn't I stay again? First, there is no self parking, only valet, and if you want to come and go, the cost of tipping on top of parking can get high. Second, location... it really isn't waking distance to Broadway and the Ubers in the evenings were adding $30 to get back before tip (taxi's we too). This hotel DOES NOT have a shuttle. It is too far away not to have a shuttle. Third, the "breakfast" that was included consisted of cereal bars, bagels, pre hard boiled eggs, toast, and yogurt. There was one toaster for people to use and all of this was set out in the bar in the morning to come and pick up. Fourth, the lighting in the room... this is a "boutique" type hotel so far as the rooms go and the light may look neat but they give nearly no light. Thankfully, the window in the room is huge and some natural light helped.
While none of this is a huge deal, we have stayed in many hotels in Nashville, many in the same area, and for the same rates, one can get a very nice, clean hotel room with self park, free shuttle to Broadway, big free breakfast options, and good lighting.

I would definitely stay again. Took a nice long weekend trip to Nashville with friends and stayed at Hayes Street Hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Neighborhood is safe and quaint. Rooms are well appointed, especially at such a low price. Not a bad walk to downtown & The Gulch. Bartender was our favorite part of the stay. We'd sit for a few hours at the end of a long day just chatting and getting drink & music recommendations. Bar menu is limited but choices are solid. Breakfast is also a nice set up with plenty of options. This hotel, like much of the city, is pet friendly and we saw quite a few well behaved dogs passing through the lobby. It does not smell like pets at all. The only non-positive thing to report is the cleanliness of the rooms. Our room could have definitely used a good sweep and the nightstand was dirty (actual dirt or some substance). It wasn't awful, and definitely not a deal breaker, but I would have happily given Excellent score if these things were addressed.

Spent the past weekend at Hayes Street Hotel and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The hotel was clean and the people who worked there could not have been nicer, especially the lady at the front desk. The bar had great music and the bartender was friendly. Bed was large and comfortable and great water pressure in the shower.
The location was great. Much more peaceful than being downtown in the midst of all the crowds. Public transportation (bus-$4 for an all day pass, about 4/5 stops to Broadway area) was a block away or Uber was around $7. The restaurants in very close proximity had better food and seemed to be less expensive. Definitely go to The Row.
Would definitely recommend and would stay again, if we return to Nashville.

I admit to being really late in giving this review but better late than never.
My husband and I traveled to Nashville for a weekend stay in August marking my 50th birthday to see one of my favorite singers at the Ryman and take in the sights. I found a great deal for Hayes Street Hotel on Travelzoo and booked our stay months earlier paying in full to secure our rate.
After a long drive from Milwaukee we pulled in at nearly 11pm the first night looking forward to a good night sleep. We got to the front desk and I gave my name but the young lady at the front desk couldn't find our reservation. I gave her the printed copy of our confirmation (always have a printed copy!). She looked it up and apologized telling us our room was booked for December and she couldn't help us. She recommended a hotel nearby and that we go to the site we booked on for a refund. Needless to say I was not happy making my feelings respectfully but firmly clear.
The gentleman also at the front desk finished the phone call he was on and asked to look at our confirmation. This was Jason and he turned what could have been a nightmare right around in about five minutes. He not only put us in a room for our full stay but comped the valet parking fee for the inconvenience. He made a copy of our confirmation so the hotel could investigate and prevent this from happening again. We will forever be grateful to Jason for fixing the problem right away. As a result we had a wonderful stay!
The lobby bar has excellent food - The chicken wrap we shared was one of the best I've tasted. The entire staff was courteous and welcoming and our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The location in the West End was perfect. A safe walk-able neighborhood with plenty of dining options. They even have live music in the lobby bar in the evening adding to the warm, welcoming vibe.
Next time we go to Nashville Hayes Street Hotel will be our top choice!

I stayed 3 nights at this small hotel. It is located just off one of the main streets in mid-town Nashville. If you are driving be aware that parking costs $34 a night. The pull in area is very small, only 2 cars at at time can get in. Other than waiting to pull in and get my car, everything was very nice. The staff were very friendly and responded quickly to an issue I had with an overflowing toilet. Keily, at the front desk was very helpful as I had to book an extra night and she was able to keep me in the same room. The bed was ok, and so were the pillows. What I really liked was that the floors were not carpeted. They were probably luxury vinyl plank and there was an area rug for the bed. This is a hotel that allows you to bring your dogs. (I left mine at home, but its nice to know) The breakfast was prepackaged bagels, cinnamon buns and boiled eggs. Not much, but enough to get you going. Loved the large screen TV. I would like to see a small grab bar in the tub as the floor was curved and a bit slippery. Overall a very nice hotel and I would recommend it.

From the start, the staff was very friendly and made me feel right at home. Both Sam and Renecia were exceptionally helpful and fun to talk to! The hotel was very clean/comfortable, the room was great. Location was excellent. The room's temperature control worked well. The workout room was small but had everything I needed-it all was up-to-date as listed on the website. Also was good to have filtered water for refills. I would suggest a few cereals without sugar for the continental breakfast, use more sustainable dishes/have recycling available.

Stayed just one night and that was enough for us.

The hotel is in a nice enough area close to restaurants and bars, and though one could walk to Broadway it would take quite a while so I think a cab or Uber is the better option. The property is clean and modern with cute bench swings in the lobby and a fairly well appointed breakfast offering. Our room was alright, decent decor, comfortable bed and interesting electric blinds, but the pillows weren’t great and the toilet took forever to stop running each time it flushed. The main issues I had were with the incredibly disinterested and impersonal gentleman at the front desk and the paper thin walls of our room. We had neighbours return to their room around 3am waking us and continuing to be incredibly loud. We tried to call front desk to complain only to find our room phone had no dial tone. We then had to Google the number and call from our mobile phone! Thankfully security was promptly called but even with the voices toned down they still sounded as though they were talking in our room and our night was ruined.

For over $300/night I expected better.

The Hayes Street Hotel is a simple hotel with not so many frills. It was reasonably priced for how close it was to everything. It is a quite area which was nice but close enough to easily get to the main attractions. The manager of the bar is really friendly and they have wonderful live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The breakfast is your basic continental breakfast but the coffee station near the bar runs all day. The only complaints I have is that the phone in our room didn't work and the direct number for the front desk was not written anywhere in our room. Also, the room was exceptionally dark which made putting make up on difficult. But besides that, I would stay here again.

The staff, in particular the night staff, were very indifferent about their customer service. They did not smile or really care about anything. The day staff were slightly better, although not by much. The breakfast was very basic. Muffins, bagels, coffee and yohurt with the odd bit of fruit. This is not a continental breakfast as advertised. The breakfast also uses a lot of single use plastic for no reason - for example the coffee creamers come in little disposable pods, when they could just buy a big carton each day. I think this hotel has a lot of potential but I'm afraid to say the staff really let it down.

There are some positives also. The location is pretty good, especially if you hire the Lime electric scooters to get around (get the daily pass on the app for 15USD per day otherwise it's very expensive), the hotel overall was very clean and pleasant to stay in. It felt like a newly built place.

We were greeted on arrival by a very helpful valet who advised us on the on street parking which saved us $50, next person was Sparrow, what a smile, we’d had a very long & trying day & journey, she handed us a free drinks voucher. We then encountered the lovely Leana who tends the bar, honest a friendlier buch of staff you couldn’t meet.
Who complains about a free breakfast when you’re in the USA?! Get a grip people, the hotels here are usually room only so any offering is great.
People complaining about noise in hotels?! Is it your first stay in a hotel? Take ear plugs, there will always be lifts, street cleaners, noisy neighbours, but it’s something you can safe guard about.
The hotel was a 30 min walk into the centre of town, a perfect distance to get your steps in for the day.
The rooms were spacious, clean & modern. The lobby is lovely & funky if I had to be hyper critical then I’d say more space at breakfast would be good.
As for the comment about a small gym, please!!!! Speed walk it’s better for you. I will be selling & recommending thank you
