Detailed Reviews
We stayed for a week in June had a very nice time. the walk to downtown is about 20 minutes the shuttle runs three and a half days a week which is convenient. the shuttle driver was a very pleasant young man. the morning staff hustles to keep the buffet full.... given covid they have done a nice job with selections of bagels, eggs, cereals fruit and Waffles. Prior to covid was better, but good selection and the rooms are reasonable compared to downtown. we had a one-bedroom unit which was very large compared to several Residence inns that I have stayed at.... overall the hotel was quiet because we're on the back of the block of West End ...the staff at the front desk gave me a taxi service # Music City which I used to go back to the airport it was only $32 plus tip for the both of us and Uber would have been over $50 so I thank them for that. there are many restaurants that you can walk to within 10 minutes and we really liked the Italian restaurant across the street and the kitchen row down the street was very interesting we enjoyed the pulled pork and the music. The hotel gives you a list and map of restaurants by the hotel as well as a large Nashville map. Everything in the room worked well, mattress was medium, which we don't like firm mattresses. It was very warm so I only wished there was a rooftop deck to read. We did use the pool and bar in the connecting hotel Spring Hill Suites. The gym looked nice. Access thru floors 5 to 9 to get to there lobby. We opted for no maid service due to covid-19 so I got towels periodically from the maid.

I stayed a couple of nights here to be somewhat close to lower Broadway, yet away enough to enjoy some quiet, plus I wanted to check out more of Music Row. This hotel is connected to the Springhill Suites Marriott, so leaving your room you can walk away from the elevators to a door (this is on each floor) that is the Springhill Suites. Then use their elevator to get to Broadway and then Music Row is right there, extremely close!
Checking in here was a breeze and friendly. They have a parking garage. The gym is over in the Springhill Suites and it’s AWFUL! When I went, it had trash all over the floor and one treadmill didn’t work at all and all other machines were in horrible shape, frayed wires, ripped seats, etc. Just terribly maintained!
They have breakfast in both hotels and I suppose you can eat at whichever you prefer… I didn’t eat their free breakfast, I went out. But I did get coffee and it was decent.
My room was great! Very large and very comfy. Bed was clean and offered me a very nice sleep, especially after a very long day of work. Shower worked well and the entire bathroom area was very clean.
Overall, I really enjoyed this stay and I’d return.

Staff (special shout out to Sean at reception and the great folks working in the breakfast area), and the location of the building were fantastic! Approximately a 20-25 minute walk to the main strip. We felt safe walking to and from downtown. We liked the fact that Whole Foods was a short walk away, allowing us to pick up groceries as needed. We were very pleasantly impressed with the healthy focus of all the breakfast options. In fact, it was the best "breakfast included" variety of food/beverage options we have ever experienced in a hotel. We booked a 2-bedroom unit with 2 private bathrooms which was spacious and comfortable for the 2 couples sharing the unit. The kitchen was fully stocked with necessities such as wine glasses and cutlery and included a dishwasher. We would definitely stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott on Hayes Street in the future.

The breakfast is great. The lady working there, Lisa, is super nice.
Other than that nothing to brag about. The hotel touts itself about its cleanliness and health protocols. TV is on a loop video boasting about its sanitizing routines, free sanitizer wipes, etc., but nothing is true. None of the sanitizer dispensers have any sanitizer. When requesting sanitizer wipes, the manager said none were available and that all the sanitizer dispensers would be filled the next day. Same the next day. The manager, Brianna, was useless. Not at all sympathetic or helpful. I will not stay here again.

Nice hotel, good location, big comfortable rooms, nice staff. What could go wrong?
As I walked into the lobby I was overwhelmed by an awful Air Freshener of some sort. I don't necessarily have a sensitivity to fragrances and chemicals but this was so strong I could taste it. I literally was trying to hold my breath so I wouldn't inhale as much. In the morning I came down for breakfast and once again was overwhelmed by the intensity of the lobby air freshener. Needless to say, eating in that atmosphere was out of the question. Likewise, while waiting for my car service I could not stay in the lobby and had to wait outside. I cannot imagine how bad this could be for someone with asthma or other auto immune issues. Made my eyes sting it was so heavy in the air!

We stayed for a Friday & Saturday night to grab some live music. The staff was professional and friendly. The room was very nice. It's about a 25 minute walk to the heart of Broadway but they do have a complimentary shuttle or you can grab a scooter if that suits you. There are other music venues and restaurants within a shorter distance as well. You could tell the man running the free breakfast in the morning was invested in doing a great job.

We have stayed at 4 other Marriott properties during Covid - all had grab and go breakfast that was just a brown bag with a sm bottle of water with either a pre packaged tiny muffin or a granola bar. So happy to say that this property has breakfast.... hot breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit cups, breads, cereal, hard boiled eggs, bagels, juice, yogurt. All individually wrapped or in individual containers, very covid safe...but still a great selection. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. The location for what we needed was fine. The room was clean - and the sheets/mattress pad actually fit the sofa bed! (something else that is often lacking at other Marriott properties) Discovered that Nashville is very spread out...not a very "walkable" city - so my advise is to know what you want to do and where you want to be before booking a hotel.

I cannot say enough about the care and kindness we were shown at this Residence Inn. We had to be in Nashville unexpectedly for a family emergency. We had no reservation, but we walked in, explained our situation to Jackie and she was incredible. She helped us book 3 different reservations, she got us the best possible rate, she ensured all our rooms were together, and she was patient and calm and kind through it all. We ended up having to extend our stay two different times and everyone was more then accommodating including giving us the latest possible checkout. Every time we saw Jackie, she asked how we were doing, told us where we could find food and churches and places to walk in the area. She was truly an angel to our family. Our rooms were clean and spacious which was exactly what we needed. On the darkest day of our entire lives, Jackie and the others at this Residence Inn, gave us a little light. Thank you.

I was close to giving this place a 3-star rating for a few of reasons….
First, the pool and gym are actually in the Springhill Suites connected to the Residence Inn. To get there, you have to take a different elevator that was all the way at the other end of the building and took forever to come up to our floor each time we went to the gym or pool.
Second, the hotel lets local companies/people rent the pool for youth swim lessons and aqua aerobics. There were a couple times we took our son to the pool and he was sharing it with multiple lessons going on at the same time. Had a few other people staying at the hotel tried to use the pool at those times, it would have been pretty crowded.
Third, the gym is too small for two hotels sharing it. There was one bench with weights shoved in the corner. There’s probably space for another bench.
I ended up going with a four-star review because the rooms were nice, everything mechanical/electronic in the room worked, the parking garage had plenty of parking, breakfast was pretty good for a free hotel breakfast, and the location was ideal for a visit to Vanderbilt and getting down to Broadway.
We’d probably stay here again, but might consider the Springhill for the pool/gym convenience, if the price is the same.

Had a 2 bedroom suite here and the room was very nice. Worked out perfectly for the four of us! We were pleasantly greeted upon arrival and essentially every time we walked into the lobby we were promptly greeted with smiles and greetings. The room was very clean, and the shuttle bus driver who was also from Chicago was very helpful in advising us where to dine, hang out and see the sights. Overall it was an exceptional stay, and we will definitely stay here again when we come back.

No but there is a safe at the front desk that you can use free of charge. You get to hold the key for it and they just open it when you need to get stuff out of it. Very secure.
It depends how fit you are. It's not too far, but it is a hike.Uber's are plentiful and Nashville has an open golf cart ride called the joy ride, phone number 615-285-9835, also does tours. We took it a while back and it was a lot of fun!
