The Hyatt House Nashville at Vanderbilt stands out for its vibrant atmosphere and prime location, popular with many travelers for its proximity to local attractions and dining options. Guests have experienced a mix of friendly service and occasional disorganization, with the hotel earning praise for its cleanliness, particularly in rooms and common areas. However, opinions on value are divided due to unexpected fees and variable service quality.
Amenities generally satisfy guests, but some have noted issues with the pool and shuttle services. Room experiences range from positive remarks about cleanliness and space to criticisms regarding wear and odd smells.

Great place to stay. Within walking distance of good restaurants. Full-service breakfast included. Big TV. Comfortable bed. A lot of hotels say they won't wash the towels if you hang them up, but wash them anyway. Hyatt actually offers you rewards points to have housekeeping not come into your room at all, and they stick to it.

This was the first time I have stayed at the Hyatt House Vanderbilt (Nashville). I travel to Nashville at least 6 times a year and without a doubt I will be back. The rooms were great, all the staff were super friendly and they have a great free breakfast that includes a Omelet Chef if you want. Parking is reasonable and I personally think it is in the perfect location (West End) for everyone regardless of the reason to be in Nashville.

My wife and I have spent over a month at this Hyatt in 2020 and every single stay has been excellent. The staff is attentive, rooms are consistently up to standard and given the current situation with COVID the morning breakfast/coffee situation has been handled well.
If you're staying for medical reasons the hotel is less than a mile from Vanderbilt facilities. We'd walk and cut through the Vanderbilt University campus to avoid traffic and enjoy the grounds. There's a Dollar General across the street for snacks and getting things you might need and a Krispy Kreme backs up to the hotel property - we'd wait for the HOT sign to come on and run over. ;-)
Overall I'd give the hotel 6 stars if I could and the staff 10.

There’s not one area of this hotel that couldn’t use improvement. The bar was definitely the best part, but the bartenders would disappear for 10-15 minutes with no replacement at totally random times. We really liked the happy hour but that’s about it. When we first entered our room we were hit by a cold breeze, the thermostat was set at 63 degrees! The room itself was nice in size but not well maintained. Scuffs and dirt visible on walls by all of the light switches, carpet was shedding on the edges towards the kitchen, vents had thick dust and lint, and the floors were dirty and could definitely use a good scrubbing, the shower floor had visible dirt marks from where previous guests have stood. Our room wasn’t cleaned for our entire stay and I did opt in to have it cleaned. The breakfast available was extremely limited and on a first come first serve basis, we went around 8 am and we’re left with only prepackaged food and toast. Nothing was restocked. We had to request towels several times at the pool and for our room. The noise from neighboring businesses was almost unbearable, loud music coming from a speaker blasted until 4 in the morning and we were on the 12th floor! On our third day we left our room to go explore the city, I received and email within 15 minutes of leaving telling me there were people in our room inspecting possible damages. We had just left! I called and they pretty much blamed us for some kind of a water spill or leak and told us they were inspecting for possible charges. They kept asking if we had a cooler that leaked and I kept saying no, we haven’t used anything or spilt anything. We raced back to see what happened and they informed us that they actually took a look at cameras and it was from a group passing that spilt water in the hallway and it went under the door into our room. They told us someone cleaned it up and spent 20 minutes drying it with a fan, we hadn’t even been gone for 20 minutes and it took us less than 10 minutes to get back. So weird. They apologized but didn’t take us back to the park we fled from when we got the news or provide any compensation for the bird scooters we spent our money on going back and forth. It felt like a day was wasted and they acted like they were doing us a favor. That’s what I call poor customer service. There was garbage and cigarette butts all over by the pool. The lack of attention to detail is noteworthy and should be a main priority. This was not at all what I expected from a Hyatt house. The name is the only thing keeping this hotel in business.

The Hyatt House is a nice property and conveniently located, at least for me (was working at a nearby hospital for a couple weeks).
The parking is expensive, just be aware and plan for it. Your room key should let you in and out of the parking garage. It seems secure. Saw a few employees taking a smoke break right by the entrance I had to walk into, which is never pleasant.
The checkin process is simple, as one would expect. They did forget to give me my free water card (because I'm a Discoverist Hyatt member).
The room I was in was nice. You can hear a lot of noise and commotion even during the "quiet hours." Housekeeping didn't come for the first 6 days, but then came about ever 2-3 days after that.
The breakfast is meh. Not really anything healthy to eat, unfortunately, except for banana and apples. Menu is the same daily- bacon or sausage egg and cheese on English muffin, oatmeal, cereal, coffee. Most people would like it, I'm sure, I just prefer other things.
They have a lobby bar which I went to a few times until I realized I was being over-charged by $1 on each of my tabs. Doubtful it's a mistake, but maybe they need $1 more than I do.
You can do laundry on the 15th floor for $2 to wash, $2 to dry.
I would advise going to the DGX nearby for any small things you may need or even snacks/drinks/booze.
Overall, it's a decent place. It has much potential, but I would say it's just mediocre for now.

We recently stayed at this property. Very pleased. Got a great room rate! A hot breakfast is included in the rate, including made to order omelettes! An easy Uber to Broadway. Hotel was clean and smelled good, as strange as that sounds, it makes a difference. Our 1 bedroom suite had a full fridge and a small island with stools so it was very functional and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

Hosting our conference at the Hyatt House was a great experience. The staff was professional, helpfu, attentive to our needs and did an excellent job meeting with both conference room and lunch set-up for event attendees. The location was great, within walking distance to number of restaurants and the hotel shuttle was convenient for guests to use to and from downtown and the office. Would definitely be back for another conference. Thank you so much for the great experience.

I am a Hyatt Explorist, family members of mine are Globalists. We stay at Hyatts a lot and love them. The customer service at this hotel, particularly by the front desk staff (none of them managers) was unacceptable, from small to big details in the way they interact. I even escalated to Hyatt Concierge on Twitter to have them talk to the front desk on my behalf for a simple broken internet issue. I can't imagine how they treat those who are not members.
Internet was broken on specific floors, which was the biggest issue I had during my stay. Another issue I had is that at check in, I also asked for a 2 queens room (even was willing to pay a bit extra) and the front desk agent refused to even check at check in, just said "we do not have any upgrades available" even though the app still had the room bookable!
About the internet, Front desk tried to blame it on the guests, saying we connected too many devices, or we had proxies/VPN's on (neither of which were true, we were not able to connect even one device!). They made no effort to reaccommodate me to another room (said rooms were being cleaned, at 7pm in the evening. The room type I was in was still bookable on the Hyatt app and third party sites). I was also told "internet is complimentary" and not guaranteed and thereby my frustration was not justified. At the end of the call, I got hung up on by the front desk rep too. I mean - this is a Hyatt hotel, not a low end motel - what type of service is this?
The internet turned out to be broken, despite what front desk was trying to lie to us about. They sent an engineer manager up to our room - who was the only great normal employee I dealt with. He told us the internet was broken from a hotel hardware issue, and it was nothing we were doing wrong. I am just surprised by the lack of any empathy toward a guest, which frankly, are what these people are trained to have.
My whole stay had no working wifi in my room. Hyatt Corporate needs clean up the staff at this hotel if I advise other Hyatt members to stay here. They clearly do not care. It should not deserve the Hyatt brand reputation with its current level of staff training.

Dear Valued Guest - I am so sorry to hear about your experience at our hotel. I can assure you that this is not the norm. Please know that treatment of guests is not based on any elite member status. In addition our staff is trained to treat all guests with equal amounts of empathy, dignity, and respect. Please know your specific comments will be addressed with our staff I apologize for the initial misdiagnosis of the Internet issue you experienced and our front desk should not have attempted to guess what the issue was. Our service provider and IT support have been working diligently to correct the issue which is related to the switch that supplies Wi-Fi to floors 8-10. Feel free to contact me directly at the hotel. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss these issues further. Thank you again for your response and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Warmest Regards -

My friend and I came in and we had overall a good stay, however, When we checked in, I had pre paid for the hotel room. The lady at the front desk stated that they hold the card if anything breaks or gets charged to the room, she also asked if we drove a car. I stated that we did not drive a car. After my stay I received a charge on my card for almost $68 after taxes/fees for parking overnight for two days. I understand, honest mistake. I called the hotel right away, the lady said her supervisor would call me after looking into it and get it fixed. I never got a call back. I called back again a couple days later, I spoke to a girl who stated the exact same thing and said her supervisor (debbie or deziree) I could not hear the name very well, would call me back that afternoon, I explained to the lady I had been told that before and she assured me I would get a call. It has now been 3 days since I placed that call and still no call back.. Overall, I would not recommend a stay at this hotel due to the lack of customer service and will be writing a review. I tried to give a couple opportunities for them to call back with a grace period but now me having to call yet again a 3rd time should not happen.

This particular stay was for purposes of medical care at Vanderbilt, but I will book any and all future travel to Nashville in this hotel after the great experience here. Everything about this hotel has been arranged with the comfort and convenience of the guest as the priority. The property looks great with attractive decor and good maintenance and is immaculately clean. I stayed several days and observed staff thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing common areas which was really great since my stay was medically related. Our room and bathroom were spotless as well. They keep enough staff on hand to take care of the property and take care of the guests round the clock. Breakfast offerings varied by day and were top quality. My very picky son gobbled the hot offerings one of the days (he's never, ever accepted a hotel breakfast before). Staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The location is safe and quiet, which is something hard to find in Nashville. There are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance including both chains and local establishments. Top notch medical care (including several respected hospitals) is nearby. Guests park in a controlled access parking garage. The room itself was spacious and attractive, extremely comfortable, quiet, and had many, many nice and thoughtful touches. A few of the best features were the sofa, the abundance of electrical outlets for plugging in electronics, the closet space, and the large walk in shower.

My husband and I didn’t mind the 1.5 mile walk. If you rent a car it will take about 10 minutes.
