The Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Vanderbilt is lauded for its strategic location near downtown, offering accessibility while maintaining a quieter ambiance, which appeals to both business and leisure visitors. While the staff's professionalism has earned commendations, concerns over high costs, particularly for parking and breakfast, have left some guests feeling the value isn’t quite up to par. Rooms are generally found to be clean and comfortable, yet remarks about them being dated and the occasional noise issue surface occasionally. Despite the additional fees, the hotel's cleanliness and prime location remain highlights for many travelers.

The price was great compared to downtown. The location was just far enough outside of the hustle and Brussel of downtown. Easy walk to Westside and downtown. Our next visit will probably stay downtown though. Hotel is quiet which is nice. Nashville is a happening, loud place 😀.

The Hilton Garden Inn is in a great location. It is close to many restaurants and bars, downtown, Vanderbilt College, and the Gulch. The free shuttle will take you anywhere you want to go within a 2-mile radius with last pickup at 10pm. Music Row was only about 1 mile down the road, so we usually walked instead of taking the shuttle. Easy walk and good exercise. Our room was ready upon arrival and was clean and comfortable. The lobby had complimentary coffee and hot chocolate all day. The breakfast buffet was $15 (a little pricey) which we enjoyed one morning. Great omellets! We usually had drinks at the bar to end the evening and bartenders were great and friendly. All the staff was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay at HGI and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable hotel in Nashville close to all the action and attractions.

Breakfast at the motel is not comped with the room and is a tad expensive for a motel meal, but it is all-you-can-eat and Marit's staff are excellent and make up for higher pricing motel food.
Housekeeping was lacking when we arrived but quickly improved after I visited with them.
The shuttle service is GREAT. They will take you anywhere within a 2 mike radius as often as you want. The downtown area is 1 mile away so this service is perfect. The shuttle drivers are well versed on all Nashville activities and guide you on what you should visit.

We usually love HGI's. I think COVID cleaning protocols are messing with housekeeping at many establishments, this one included. While our room was sealed as having been sanitized, I wouldn't have called it clean. Even before COVID, I would've expected no hair on the shower wall, no dirt or hair behind the toilet (which honestly looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months), no crumbs and hair under the vanity, and certainly no crumbs or used plastic spoon near the bed (see picture).
The rooms were comfortable and the beds very comfortable. There was a bunch of noises coming through the walls/ceiling but we were on the shared wall of the elevator and it could've been that. It wasn't bothersome though.
The usually wonderful serve-to-order breakfast is being offered with considerable distancing between tables. We weren't hungry so didn't take advantage of the breakfast at this hotel.
Staff was very polite. Surprisingly, the gentleman who check us out this morning was very concerned about the lack of cleaning in our room and refunded our parking fee. Thank you for that. Speaking of, it is $29/night for self-park in a covered garage shared by the Home2Suites.
Great location! Close enough to walk to the original Hattie B's Hot Chicken, original Gigi's Cupcakes, and other nice restaurants and bars.
Overall, they say they have a free shuttle to downtown. That's a nice perk and you'd be away from the hubbub and close to Hattie B's!!
I would stay here again, giving the cleaning staff another chance once COVID has settled down.

We called while driving to make a reservation for the night. We were quoted a low price off from the Hilton reservation service, but my husband said when he checked in, they quoted our rate at $57 higher. When we got to our room, there was a seal across the door to show the room had been sanitized. That was a nice gesture in Covid times. After we ordered in pizza delivery for dinner, I went to put the leftovers in the fridge, but whoops, someone else's food was there. Gross. Not so cool during a pandemic. I called the front desk and someone came to remove it and clean it out. The next morning, I went to make coffee, but whoops again. The last guest's K-Cup was still there. I decided this probably wasn't a big germ issue and carried on, but then looked up at the microwave. OMG, it was covered in greasy fingerprints. Gross and disgusting. I wouldn't want to touch that keypad at all. This made me wonder how clean the rest of the room really was. When I went to get in the shower, there appeared to be something gross on the side of the tub. I went to the front desk to check out and make sure we were charged the correct rate. We were comped for the parking fee, which I greatly appreciate, but I will say the clerk was really rude. I wish I had paid attention to his name, but at the time my glasses were fogging up from wearing my mask. Maybe he was cranky from having to wear a mask behind plexiglass.

We booked a trip on hotels.com to this location. We got a very good deal, or so it seemed. We arrived at the location and paid our fee plus the $100 incidental deposit that is required.
The only parking available for this location is a parking garage built into the hotel. As my wife has a disability, a handicap parking on or near the facility is necessity.
When we went to check out two days later, they quoted us a price of approximately $70 higher than what we had originally agreed to for the room.
When I requested, they printed me up a list of charges. This included $32 per day plus tax parking in addition to what the agreed-upon price was. This was neither told to us up front nor was it displayed anywhere at the desk of the hotel informing us that this was going to be a fee charged to us. Additionally, I do not recall ever seeing such on the fees for hotels.com.
The lady behind the desk refused to remove these charges. Additionally, I called the manager the next day as they gave me his card, and he, also, stated they would not remove these charges. They are very dishonest about the total cost of what you will pay to stay at their facility. I give them zero Stars and 5 PPFFFFFT.
Just a think before we went downstairs to check out, we were discussing staying at this location from now on should we return to Nashville, and they completely changed our mind when we went downstairs to check out. We learned later, Upon returning home, a number of others have made complaints concerning this parking at this location. As my title states, don't waste your money here.

Dear Karaokedudelm, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I do apologize that you were unaware of the nightly parking fee at our property. We certainly make an effort to make this fee visible in every possible way including having it posted on our website, at our property on various signs prior to entering the garage and on the 3rd party sites where you are able to book at our property like the one you booked with. Should your travels bring you back through Nashville, I hope that you will give us another try and I encourage you to book direct as there are a number of promotional packages that include parking. We hope to welcome you back soon!

I usually stay at either Hilton or Marriott properties when traveling because I come to expect their own brand of quality. I understand that all properties are managed differently but eh Hilton Garden Inn Nashville left a little to be desired for a few reasons. Reason number one is the extremely high price for parking. I say just raise the room price to include parking. $32 for a day to me is high. I used Hilton Honors to pay for the room so that was my only charge. Reason number two was the quality of the room. It was fairly clean except for some beverage residue on the desk top but my biggest complaint about the room was that the only place to relax, sit and watch TV was the desk chair. The room had a nice jacuzzi but no chair to sit it. There was plenty of room between the bed and the wall with the window to put a chair. Reason number three was the food service, or lack of it. I understand we are supposed to be in a pandemic but they had not hot breakfast on Monday or Tuesday and very limited the other days. Hopefully the cleanliness of the room and the lack of food can be blamed for the time frame and will correct itself when times return to normal. One final comment was the front desk personnel. I asked if the nearest gas station was an Exxon Station up Broadway Street towards the McDonalds near downtown Nashville, he said yes, yet on my way back there was a large Shell Station a single block away, the only thing between the hotel and the gas station was a car wash..........come one, if you are at the front desk please know the area you are in.

Hilton talks a lot about how they are giving extra attention to the cleaning of the property and each room in order to ensure that guests are safe and comfortable during the Covid pandemic. This is simply not true. After checking in, we rode the elevator to our floor. When the doors opened, we were greeted by a large bag of garbage, with half eaten Popeyes chicken spilling all over the hallway. There was a wet, dirty washcloth on the floor directly outside of our room, presumably left by the previous guest, which made me wonder if our room had actually been cleaned. When I alerted the front desk staff I was told that “we have no housekeeping in the building right now.“ I clarified that we did not need anyone to enter our room, but would appreciate having the garbage and dirty linens removed so we didn’t need to step over them to get on and off the elevator or in and out of our room. I was answered with a heavy sigh and a snarky “I guess I could put on gloves and remove those things myself. We don’t have housekeeping in the building right now.”

We were not greeted or acknowledged by any staff members for the rest of the weekend. Those at the front desk either did not look up from their screens as we walked by or continued to talk to each other. It was odd.

I’ve given the property 2 stars instead of 1 star because the gentleman who checked us in was friendly and professional, the parking was convenient, and although the carpet in our room was pretty dirty (dust/crumbs/debris all along the baseboards), the bathroom and linens were all clean.

We had a wonderful trip in general but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was clean and location was good. Front desk and shuttle staff were very nice.

You have to schedule room cleaning services. We scheduled twice but both times our room was not serviced (trash still there, dirty towels still there, bed sheets not cleaned, etc) both times I called the front desk. The first time they brought us towels and told us if we wanted our bedsheets changed we’d have to do it ourselves. The staff scheduled our cleaning for the next day but it didn’t happen either.. The second time they quickly brought us towels and trash bags. You put your own trash in the hallways so you will see other peoples trash/pizza boxes etc. we had quite the collection of dirty towels.. we were really disappointed that even after missing the first cleaning, the second one was missed as well. We went to the front desk for cups for coffee due to ours being out and not replaced.

Shuttle service was good when you could catch it. It was not a consistent schedule like other hotels. Instead of being on the hour/half hour or scheduled trips it was random. When you call the shuttle it will always be 20 minutes away. Other guests had similar issues. We used the shuttle three times and walked or Ubered other times. Self parking was advertised online a little cheaper than it was in the hotel.

Checkout was very fast but I wasn’t given a receipt or summary of charges. They told me it would be emailed.

Not terrible just disappointing. There are daily fees so it’s unfortunate that the shuttle service was inconsistent and cleaning services were unreliable.

There were no issues with our room. It was clean and comfortable. All the staff spoke to us and were very cordial. The front desk staff always seem to be in a good mood and the housekeeping staff all said hello. My only issue was the breakfast. Of course it is a Hilton Garden so breakfast is not free, but the bare minimum continental was a little skimpy for $10.

We do not have a clue about this. However, we had a very bad experience with this hotel. They add bogus charges after you go to check out. They charge you $32 per night for parking plus taxes on it they do not tell you about until you are checking out. By then you cannot back out of the charges. Save your money and go somewhere better.
