Holston House Nashville boasts a prime location that many guests appreciate for its accessibility to Broadway and downtown attractions. The hotel charms visitors with its boutique ambiance, clean and stylish decor, and modern amenities, including a rooftop pool and bar acclaimed for its panoramic views. While rooms are generally praised for their comfort and cleanliness, some travelers have expressed concerns about poor lighting and space.
Although the service and valet team receive high marks for friendliness and helpfulness, guests have noted occasional service lapses and inconsistent housekeeping. Reviewers warn of high costs for add-ons and parking, as well as some street noise.

Detailed Reviews
With COVID, I was a little hesitant making a trip out of state, but with it not going anywhere, I decided to still make the trip to Nashville. And I am so glad I did! I hardly ever leave reviews but when I’m extremely pleased, i take the time to do so. This hotel did not disappoint! The staff was amazing, from the ladies at the front desk to the bartenders, and the hospitality was unmatched. In a time where most people are just trying to find their normal again, this hotel did a great job. The room was spotless, they had tissues available to be able to press the elevator buttons, hand sanitizer everywhere. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location was extremely convenient, being just a block away from Broadway. We were about a 15 minute walk from almost everything we wanted to do the entire trip. I honestly can’t wait to visit Nashville again and stay here!

My husband came for our 10 year anniversary getaway. The Holsten House is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! I’m in a wheelchair and the rooms are so spacious allowing me to move around easily. Our King bed accessible sweet had 1 1/2 bathrooms, kitchen/living room area and a separate bedroom. Also, I’ve never been to a hotel with hardwood floors. It made pushing myself so easy! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We originally planned on staying at a cheaper hotel but I found a special for staging 2 nights and getting the 3rd free. I’m so glad we stayed here. I hope they keep that special because I can’t wait to come stay again!!!

Friendly staff, even when arriving without a reservation. Clean rooms and a great breakfast. We were greeted immediately when we exited the taxi and were shown a great amount of empathy since they knew we were bounced from the renaissance due to overbooking for a room we booked 6 months in advance.

The Houston House is in an IDEAL location if you are planning to hang out on "Honky Tonk" row. The staff was amazing and very friendly. The valet team (even though it was very cold) were always prompt and courteous as well. The hotel is a little run down~the pictures are beautiful on their website, it doesn't quite look that new and elegant. The couch in our room had a big rip across the back of it, the towels were very rough and old and the extra blanket I asked for was stained pretty badly. One evening we ordered room service and I chose a very delicious looking pork chop from their menu which shows their items plated VERY NICELY. When my room service order arrived, it was in a paper bag inside a plastic container. Included was bag that had a plastic fork and knife with no condiments. When I oped the box the food literally was all smushed together and the fork would not even go into the pork chop. Literally the toughest pork chop I have ever tasted. Room Service at a 4 star hotel should never be served in a to go container like some pizza joint. Very disappointed in that experience and the price for terrible food.

Arrived to this hotel on Saturday night, around 8pm. Upon arrival, we were told that the room we reserved weeks ago was no longer available. The hotel clerk just shrugged his shoulders and said that is standard for the hotel industry. We travel very often, at least once every 6-8 weeks, and have never had this issue with a hotel. He offered us the only room they had left, which was a single bed room next to the lobby. We expressed our concerns regarding our original "reservation" and after my husband asked several times, he finally offered to give us half off. My husband asked for the room to be complimentary due to their failure to keep our reservation. My husband ended up sleeping on their tiled floor. The reason we initially reserved a double bed room, is because my son does not sleep well in the bed with us, he needs his own space. We checked out the next morning and later in the day, my husband checked his credit card account and realized the clerk not only DID NOT comp our room, he charged us TWICE!! I'm very thankful my husband looked at the account and we were actually still in town. We made yet another trip back to the Holston House to fix their errors once again. There are better choices in downtown Nashville. Aesthetics were pleasing, service was absurdly unacceptable.

I'm terribly sorry that we failed to handle the situation more efficiently and professionally. There is no excuse for a flippant attitude and the inability to correctly bill after discussions had taken place. I assure you this is an isolated issue and we have already taken action to correct the behaviors and missed opportunities outlined in your review. We genuinely hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future and restore your confidence with the service I know we are capable of providing.

Stay here during a couples trip to Nashville, it was great. Hotel is two blocks from Broadway, so close enough to walk but far enough away do very quiet. We got upgraded to a suite, it was beautiful with great views of a beautiful church and Nashville skyline. Bar is small but cozy and bartenders were very friendly and made great drinks with local Tennessee whiskey. The restaurant was delicious, ate breakfast there three mornings, always delicious and employees were so friendly, felt like home. Would definitely stay again.

Holston House Nashville is the place to stay if you want to be within walking distance to all of the downtown locations. It is a short walk to Broadway but far enough away that you do not hear the action from your room. The hotel was a perfect place for our vacation.

If you're looking for convenience, the Holston is a great location. We came in town to attend the Volunteer Jam at Bridgestone Arena-and the Holston was the perfect location to stay within walking distance. The rooms were great size, the bathrooms were huge and the towels and incidentals were plentiful. Check in and out were made easy by the lovely staff.

Room was small and not well designed. No daily service covid related. No enough towels for no service. Restaurant only had limited service. Stale bagel not good. They allowed $15 toward FREE breakfast but 2 eggs and potatoes with NO toast or meat was $15.
No icemaker on floors, had to call desk. Only allowed valet at $42 a night.
Very disappointed for a Hyatt.
Only redemption was about 4 blocks from honky tonk area.

Thanks so much for taking time to write about your recent visit, lektor1! I'm very sorry to see that you left feeling underwhelmed about your stay with us. We are operating in a very different environment with COVID and all feedback is helpful while we continue to fine tune our operation in this environtment. It certainly appears that some elements of your visit need a bit of re-working. Our team is always on hand to bring any additional items like towels and ice to the guestrooms, however it sounds like your restaurant experience needs some attention and I have shared that feedback with our chef. As we continue to rework our menu, we will certainly keep your feedback in mind regarding inclusions with entrees and pricing. Thank you for your candid feedback. If there is anything I can do during your next visit to Nashville to ensure your expectations are exceeded, please contact me. I would love for you to leave our hotel excited to return to Holston House and Nashville. All my best, Shannon Foster shannon.foster@hyatt.com

If you can book a room here at the Holston House, I highly recommend it. It’s legitimately in the perfect location for walkers to enjoy downtown Nashville, see the Capitol buildings, access to the riverfront and the Country Music Hall of Fame. It really is just a few blocks in any direction from all those sites.
Check in was a breeze even though we ended up checking in late late at night. The room was a decent size, just a touch small around the bed area, but it didn’t break my heart.
We did also have a small issue with our key card getting deactivated, not sure how it was happening but the staff was always quick to fix it. I’m not sure what their room cleaning activities are in the COVID era, but we stayed for three nights over a weekend and the room was not cleaned once. That does not particularly bother me, but if it bothers you, I’d call down to the front desk to ask.
Otherwise a great stay!

I do not remember any other fee’s except for those two. I felt very safe there at night and my wife and I are from a small town. Walking was okay for me around that area but my wife had some problems. We are both in our early 70’s and she has had a knee replacement and some mobility issues already.
Pool area is open pretty much all the time but they may not have bar service.
The regular king room is a bit small but you don’t spend much time in there anyway so it works. If you want more room go with the larger king room or the two queen room!
Yes, at least my room did.
