Detailed Reviews
The entrance/lobby in this Courtyard are very open and inviting. The optional valet service personnel gladly assisted with our luggage and was not in a rush to move us along (very refreshing). Our king room w/balcony was also very spacious and well-appointed.
Special recognition goes to the Café staff for taking time to discuss their menu and general chats between customers. A special Thank You to Brooklynn, Tyrie and Domonic. Additionally, Jamal was very efficient and helpful during our check-in.
There are MANY good restaurants within a 5 minute walk from this hotel.
We highly recommend this Marriott property.

Very nice hotel and my first time staying there. We had a late check-in. When we arrived the front desk person was straightforward and about her business. Upon arrival in our room, we noticed there was not a sleeper sofa that we needed. The front desk person was able to change our room but did inform us that the rate would increase. The next morning at check out I asked the front desk person ( who was a different person and was very very nice) do they give law enforcement discounts. She informed me that the man at the next desk, who I am assuming was the manager, would have to answer that question. He walked over and she asked about the law enforcement discounts. He answered her very rudely " No", not one time did he acknowledge my presence as a hotel guest. I had no problem if they did not law enforcement discounts, but the rude attitude was 100% out of line.

I love the West End area, it’s centrally locates and within walking distance to many restaurants. The parking process is a little convoluted. Don’t pull into the garage at first, instead pull in front, check in to get your garage pass then proceed to the garage.
The hotel rooms are well appointed and very nice. Would definitely stay again.

Just visited and was very disappointed. Room service only came ONCE out of the 7 nights/8 days I was there and I had to call 5 times to get them to come up. Then, they would not even deliver towels.
Additionally the pool was not open which makes no sense. JW Marriot’s pool is open so why isn’t this one?? Makes zero sense
Lastly the lack of food and beverage was disappointing. Your entire city is open so your hotel needs to be too.

Stayed with the family for a 2 night mini break. First impressions were not good, dead plants by the entrance and bits of rubbish blowing around. The foyer and bar area were quite nice. We were told upon check in that we would have to request for our room to be made up. We couldn't request this at check in, it had to be done the following morning. I thought this was strange as why wouldn't you want your room made up if you're staying at a hotel? I guess they hope people will forget to ask. The room was basic but clean. The bed was made up with cheap feeling cover and the pillows were so bad they literally felt like cotton balls inside a sack. The filling had completely disintegrated. This was the case for all four pillows. I slept with a towel over mine as I was grossed out by how old they must be. The next morning I requested for the rooms to be made up and was abruptly informed that they would only be done between 3-5 pm as they were 'busy'. I asked for better pillows, explaining the problem. When we returned in the late afternoon we found the same pillows and the bed roughly made, with the cover just crudely pulled over the crumpled sheets, lumps and bumps everywhere. I was really annoyed by this as it showed such contempt for standards and for guest comfort. Don't stay here is my advice

### Review of Courtyard Nashville Vanderbilt/West End
My stay at the Courtyard Nashville Vanderbilt/West End was fraught with one issue after another. Despite its convenient location within walking distance of Vanderbilt University and some decent dining options, the overall experience was disappointing.
The hotel's construction quality was subpar, leading to a very noisy environment. The thin windows and lack of proper insulation meant we could hear every car that passed by, and we were frequently woken up by noise from the drive-through at Cook-Out down the street.
Our room had several issues:
1. Creaky Beds: Any movement on the beds produced an audible creaking noise, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
2. Unclean Bathroom: The bathroom had urine on the wall, and although we notified housekeeping, it took an entire night before someone was available to clean it.
3. Loud Air Conditioner: The fan motor in the air conditioner was malfunctioning, making it very noisy.
4. Smoke Detector Issue: There was a plastic bag on the smoke detector for some reason, which was concerning.
5. High Valet Parking Costs: The cost for valet parking was exorbitant at over $40 per day, plus tips, with no other parking options available. I've paid less for valet in downtown LA, which felt like extortion.
On the positive side, the staff did their best to address these issues. They replaced the mattresses with newer ones, eventually cleaned the bathroom, and attempted to fix the air conditioner, though it likely required more maintenance after our checkout. The staff's efforts were the only saving grace of our stay; otherwise, we would have checked out early and demanded a refund.
Despite the helpful staff, I would not stay at this hotel again. I will likely be visiting Vanderbilt frequently in the coming years, but I will be seeking alternative accommodations.

Extremely overpriced and rude phone staff.
We were travelling through so booked last minute. I called twice to ask questions and both times that gal who answered the phone was extremely rude to me. When we arrived the front desk staff were much kinder.
Valet is $40 on top of the rate which was ridiculous. The rate for a Friday night was $360 (for a King room) and this is ordinarily a hotel that shouldn’t charge more than a $110 a night. I travel a lot and this shouldn’t command that rate other then it’s walkable (a very long walk) to the main part of Broadway but still that rate is laughable. However other Marriott brand hotels were commanding $1000 a night for closer to the action.
The room looked like it had some sort of a facelift but this is an old hotel at its core. There didn’t appear to be anything to deal with Covid in the room (packaging of remotes etc) so I’m guessing Nashville has declared Covid over).
There’s nothing really around the hotel of interest except a hot chicken place that we wanted to try but didn’t get a chance.

Started off by having the wrong room ready. We booked a wheelchair accessible room, and called prior to verify. The room they gave us was not accessible, could not get a wheelchair in the bathroom. They changed our room the next day. Then rained over night and the room had large amount of water leak in, they brought a large floor fan to dry the carpet and is stayed in the room for the duration of the stay, 5 nights. Pool music came on very loudly at 0700, to wake everyone up. Housekeeping woke us up 2 times by knocking and trying to open the fort st 0800, again waking us up. Over all cleanliness was poor. Very disappointed and no comp offered for the inconveniences

The room was great, newly renovated, spacious and clean as always. There is a lot of new construction in Nashville and we’d stayed here a month before with no issue and five stars. When you’re paying $300 a night, including $35 a night parking, it would be nice to know that you’ll be awakened at 7 AM sharp by a giant Cat jackhammer outside your hotel room. Not happy 😔

Dear FlyZXLGal, Thank you for returning to our hotel once again for sharing the details of your most recent stay. It is rewarding to know that you enjoyed our newly upgraded and refreshed accommodations. However, we want to apologize if your peaceful night’s rest was interrupted by noise from nearby construction. Stopped here on our way to Florida. Location is good for touring Vanderbilt U. The lobby is quant and has Starbucks for morning coffee. Staff were friendly. We got in around midnight. The only place to park was on the street, but we would have to move at 6:00am or pay the $40 valet fee at the hotel. I’m used to hotels in cities charging for parking, but only having the option to valet and it being so expensive was disappointing.
The room was fairly clean, but the floors were not very clean. Tile throughout. The bathroom had dried urine all around. We laid towels down and only stepped on them when we didn’t have shoes on. There are plenty of other options in the area that I would recommend over this one.

There is a shuttle. The one time we used it we waited almost 40 minutes. I assume it’ll run on the 4th
The shuttle does not go to the airport. It will run you from the hotel to locations within a few mile radius of the hotel - e.g. to downtown locations.
