The Yarrawonga Hotel is a great family owned country pub, with a French-inspired provincial decor. Affectionately known as 'The Pelican' hotel by locals, the hotel offers a bar, beer garden, TAB facilities and bistro open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. There are 8 accommodation rooms upstairs that are super clean and comfortable, not your typical pub rooms! Warm, helpful and friendly staff all year round, hospitality at it's best!

Stayed the one night whilst in Yarrawonga and paid a little more to get a king bed. Much to our surprise, the room was huge, had a kitchenette with a great en-suite that had a walk in shower and a bath. The room was very clean, bright and the bed was very comfy. All the rooms are named after famous race horses and all rooms are upstairs from what we could see. We parked directly outside the hotel in the centre island parking bays and the Hotel is located in the main street a very short walk from the lake. Before checking in we had a meal which was very good and reasonably priced.

I emailed hotel from their www to make a reservation- they responded and confirmed reservations- Decor was a good mix of old and new in the public area. Food was good and reasonably priced and service was fine- would certainly visit again. Sanitisers masks and QR codes all in place

Had dinner here with friends. The food was excellent and the price is very reasonable. Can recommend the Chicken Parma, Lamb coated in bush spices and gummy shark. The lemon tart was also delicious. We'll be going back there for a second night during our trip.

The Yarrawonga Hotel has much to recommend it. It is a beautiful building right in the heart of Yarrawonga. The rooms are beautifully renovated and very clean and comfortable. The pub serves excellent food and drink at reasonable prices.

Staff here were very accommodating, friendly and helpful.

We parked on the street outside overnight which was fine.

The rooms are up a flight of stairs inside the hotel beside the bistro, so I'm not sure how someone who could not use stairs would access them.

We were booked into a King Suite called "Octagonal" which had a separate room with microwave, sofa and another television. It was a lovely room. Despite the fact that we were there on a Friday night and this is a popular pub, the room was very quiet and comfortable.

The temperature inside the room was also very ambient and we would have slept well were it not for.....

..this bloody bright green light on the ceiling (right beside the red one for the fire alarm), that we have no idea what its purpose is. It cast a green glow on the room as soon as we switched all the lights off. Before then we hadn't even noticed it.

So, in short this is a great place to stay, if a light room doesn't worry you at night time. If you like your room dark, then maybe this is not the best place, unless the Yarrawonga Hotel can do something to dim that light or cover it so it's not so much of an issue.

6 of us ordered from the magnificent menu.
Lots of excellent choice.. so we ordered got a cold beer. Then there was a flicker in of lights then no power. We thought then oh no,no food the waiter came to our table after about 5 mins said he had rung power co and no power till 6pm. Offered us a full refund apologised we were finishing our drinks then bang lights flickered and power back on he came back to table said what he could and couldn’t do from our orders as cooking stations some took longer than others to get back to heat required . The lamb back stap Greek salad was a changed choice OMG thank god for the outage it was to die for. Parmas were excellent as was all I the other choices. Can’t recommend this enough from excellent friendly customer service to food you would die for. Thanks Yarra Hotel we will be back 💜

Very nice hotel and the meals are fantastic, we chose to stay here due to ev charging station in the car park which was great. The room we had (3) was comfortable but a little noisy from a/c units and kitchen fans, but not a big deal. I would book the larger room next time.

Dinner was a pleasure at the hotel. The pork sirloin was excellent and the vegetables accompanying were well seasoned. Present atmosphere and staff were warm and friendly. The sweets were also excellent considering I am not a sweet tooth but a splurge on the rare occasion is an adventure.

Welcoming and helpful staff. Good pub menu and food was good.

Probably good to avoid a Friday night though. Unbelievably loud tables of women reminiscent of the crowds watching Madame Guillotine as we understand in the French Revolution. Gaggle, cacophony, rude raucous din.

Helpful staff relocated us to better table so all ok but still a very loud dining room.
