Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This hotel confuse me of Accor no it ain’t - unfriendly staff rather go to Meccas for breakfast ☹️. and a motel down the road for accommodations. Staff looks like they seen the ghost when you walks in - reception especially Karen. Very expensive, customer services lacking .

Every member of staff we encountered over our two days, whether, reception, restaurant or cleaning, was friendly, helpful and cheerful. The room was spotlessly clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. Even though I’d forgotten to bring my disabled parking permit, they allowed us to park in the disabled spaces, as the main car park is quite a distance on crutches. The young lady on reception said she’d explain to anyone who complained. We had an excellent dinner in the Stock and Barrel. The WiFi was fast and the pool was lovely.

Great location. The room was a 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the lake. The room has a fridge/freezer, washing machine, oven and cooktop which is handy. However, there was no microwave. They have a nice balcony with a table and chair for two and also an outdoor couch. I don't think the balcony had ever been cleaned. It was lovely to sit there as long as you just looked at the lake and not the dirt around you. Unfortunately, they have glass doors on the shower and toilet. So you can lie in bed and watch your partner on the toilet. Seriously, how about solid doors that no one can see through please for privacy sake!!!! Carparking is obviously a shared arrangement with the Golf Club and at times you can hardly find a car park. It is also quite a walk from the accommodation. Luggage trolleys can be found in Reception. We ate in the Bistro on two occasions and even though everything was cooked well the menu leaves a lot to be desired. There really isn't a great deal t to choose from as it is either pizzas (which we have never had) or several mains that always seem to have not the standard ingredients. We never saw a daily special unless they have that on the weekend when it is busier. The staff are friendly but not up to the 4.5 stars that they claim to be. We stayed during the week and it wasn't busy but they had 7 staff on who just seemed to talk amongst themselves with only one or two doing the actual work. The actual Restuarant, Elizabeths, has never been open whenever we go which is a shame. Disappointing. Breakfast is either a Granola or crumpets with a fruit coulis and meringue kisses or 6 types of cooked eggs. All I wanted was some toast or even fruit toast which the menu didn't have. Sometimes by the Bistro reception they have some assorted foods like Almond Crossiants, Donut or Fruit Salad but not always. So, unless you want a cooked breakfast, I would go somewhere else or bring your own bread and toast it in your room. Hubbie had a massage at the Sol Wellness which he said was probably the best he had ever had but the staff had no idea how to operate the computer so we couldn't pay and it had to be put on our room bill. I don't believe it was the staff member's fault as he had been a last minute replacement and hadn't been given enough information. Overall, the rooms are good but they are starting to show signs of needing deeper cleaner as the carpet and sofa had grubby marks and signs of spills. The balconies definitely need a clean and regularly. Staff need to be trained better. Different menu with more variety. It has so much potential and it just isn't quite there yet. Locals told us that it is known that one investor/owner doesn't want to spend any money on the place and it is starting to show.

Very poor experience at the Sebel Yarrawonga. Room was very nice with an excellent view of the lake, although there was a surprising amount of noise from nearby rooms. Perhaps problems with noise insulation? The real problem was service in the bistro. Disappointing that the proper restaurant ‘Elizabeths’ is no longer open, but the service at ‘Stock and Barrel’ on the Saturday night was terrible. Our wine arrived after entree with our waitress advising that she found it ‘difficult’ to open wine bottles with a cork. My wife’s main was never delivered ( she was ultimately provided a meal free of charge but some 30 minutes after I had eaten mine). To finish the experience , we were then overcharged $40 for the wine and $10 for another dish! When I asked to discuss this with the restaurant manager, I was told that this was not possible as she was busy! Finally resolved but a very poor experience. The bistro service problem is a pity as we also experienced great service from other staff, particularly the front desk. We also had problems with the booking process via booking.com ( caused by Sebel, not booking.com) as a consequence of Sebel attempting to impose conditions contrary to what was listed. Finally resolved, but again a poor experience. All h

We have just spent 4 nights at the Sebel Yarrawonga , it is the best hotel resort in Victoria , absolutely stunning views with the lake surrounding hotel , beautiful ground great pool & the room was lovely . However the restaurant needs improvement , the food is average in fact we had some meals that weren’t great & wasn’t eaten & staff shoujd ask is everything ok with your meal & offer something else after all the meals weren’t cheap . We are Accor members & the Accor card at the restaurant was a nightmare always a problem with the wrong discount applied the. We had to correct the amount get refunded the pay again . There weren’t many staff members that knew what was going on . I will definitely be back & hopefully restaurant will be improved by our next visit

This place needs new management who know how to run a restaurant. Everything is very poorly done. Greeting, service and food is of very poor standard, not up to Accor standards at all. Staff are defensive and indifferent to guests requests. We dined here three times over the Christmas period and each time it was very poor. Even when I asked the restaurant manager his name in a friendly manner he said “ why what have I done” I said no exactly you haven’t done anything.

So you can’t order in the sunset pool area because the bar is closed due to lack of staff. Note at least six staff inside. You can’t QR code a drink back to your room because the QR code does not allow you to do this 😩 you cannot use you Accor corporate card for a discount pool side , but you can if you eat on the Terrace. Obviously the pool is owned by someone else 😮 oh and you can’t take your discount paid food or drink from the terrace to the pool that’s just not allowed. You can’t order a drink on one side of the bar inside you have to go around to the other side would you not think the person serving you would take your order and fix it up for you ? Not meet you with a blank other side we can’t use this side ok so I go around then other side and I’m ignored for ten minutes until someone goes oh didn’t see you what can I get for you? For $400 a night I expect a lot more than this. I go into town for dinner because I cannot stand to give this facility anymore of my money and all the people I met in town were telling me how bad the service is at silverwoods. I am not lying so many said they would never go there. The golf was great but the resort forget it! Absolutely shocking I was so disappointed

My husband and I were booked in to Sebel Yarrawonga for four nights (Luxury Escapes deal). The resort is beautiful with everything you could ask for in five-star accommodation. Our Studio Lakeside room was nice, very comfortable bed and pillows. When the sun is out the lake looks amazing. The bathroom is luxury and the shower amazing. It was very quiet, but we did stay during the week. There is everything onsite that you could ask for. Two restaurants Stock and Barrell casual and Elizabeth for fine dining. A day spa SOL for those wanting a bit of pampering. Also, a luxurious outdoor semi heated pool next to the gymnasium. One of the downsides to this resort is the long distance away from the carpark to reception and your rooms. We stayed in bad weather and although the walkway is undercover it didn't help a great deal. Another downside is the menu in Stock and Barrell. Not a great deal to order for breakfast on the menu. Much prefer buffet breakfast with an option to eat healthy food. The evening menu again was sparce and very expensive. Black Bull looks amazing for keen golfers and there is also a tennis court onsite. Also, it is about five kilometers from town. Would we stay again, maybe not but otherwise we enjoyed our stay and glad we got a discount from Luxury Escapes.
