Dont be fooled by the old style pub look at the front, Burkes Hotel and Motel is well worth the visit to stay whilst in Yarrawonga. Affordable, comfortable, excellent customer service and great meals, Burkes ticks all the boxes if you want a place to lay your head. Great bar, TAB and bistro with sensational meals. Beds are comfy and the bathrooms are tastefully updated. No need to move the car, you can venture around the main strip (and beyond) given it's central location.

We all had a lovely sleep in the comfy beds, very impressed with the standard of the rooms and cleanliness, given the affordable price. Appreciated having a cot setup for our little one. An excellent place to spend the night!

After finally being freed from the city we made our way to Yarrawonga for a few days and stayed at Burkes. All the staff were really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable at a reasonable price. Happy about that! We ate good pub food and they have a terrific wine list and my favourite tipple - frangelico. All round a great choice!

Booked in and paid for 3 nights.
Room was old and dirty. Looked like it had been made up weeks ago and had a large black spider up residing in the corner of the room. Turned on the air con and it worked but the noise level was extreme. Unable to sleep with it on or off as it was hot in early March.
Tried to find someone to complain but nobody around. Left the key and departed very disappointed. Won't be back!

I was disappointed with my 5 night stay in a "superior" motel unit. TIRED would be a better word. The proprietors really need to get out into the market and see what is on offer. This motel has not seen much love in recent years, exemplified by the broken soap holder in the shower which is now a jagged steel appendage waiting to gash an unwary guest. The carpet was dour. The couch was ready for the second hand sale. The bedding was just adequate. The table had tissues under one leg to stop it wobbling. And the restaurant menue is 1980's revisited. Burke's Royal Mail hotel was once a standard setter in the town. Not now. Sad

They love their sport. They love their racing. They love serving beer. The perfect small-town pub in the middle of the main strip. Popular with locals (always seemed to be plenty inside and out!) but welcoming to travelers. Food menu is typical “pub” but we didn’t eat there.

Extremely bad customer service, "cold shower" room smelt of mildew in back motel unit wont be goin back. Only toast and cereal no cooked breakfasts only for groups or after 11am we where told we had to be out of our room by 10am.

We stayed here two nights recently to attend an important family function nearby. We booked the Superior room out the back of the hotel at $140 per night and had reasonable expectations. The room had been recently slightly refurbished and was clean and spacious. A basic cereal and toast breakfast was included. We really expected more for the price. It was mid winter and the room was freezing. The room had a very 12 foot or more high ceiling and an air conditioning unit was situated almost at the top of the ceiling. We had this unit running all day and night could not get the room warm as all the hot air rose. We stuffed cushions to block the draft under the door and close the curtains to no avail and the bathroom was even colder. The room had tea and coffee making but no biscuits, there was no shampoo, hairdryer or iron and I dont think I was expecting too much for the price to have these included, much cheaper motels I have stayed in have had these things available. A trip to reception ascertained they didnt even have a hair dryer or an iron to borrow so i couldnt wash my hair, dry it or iron our party clothes. On the positive side the bed was comfortable. I would look for an alternative next time.
