Bourgainvillea for miles, an incredible focus in the wonderful family friendly garden. We played backyard cricket, swam in the pool, had a lovely evening with friends also staying at the Tarra Hotel. The kids just loved all the safe space to roam.

Visited Yarram over Easter to see the Heesco murals. The room was dated, but was otherwise clean and tidy and economically priced. Meals were not available due to staff shortages, but rooms were cleaned daily. The owners were friendly and helpful. Parking at front door, free wifi, and a comfortable bed made our visit most relaxing. The only thing I missed was a notice at the front desk: cutlery and crockery available on request.

We had the best 4 days at the Tarra Hotel in Yarram. New owners Candice and Adrian were the best hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they have a wealth of local knowledge to guide you. A very family orientated Motel, newly renovated rooms are spotless and stylish, with a great garden and pool for the kids to play safely and have great fun! A tonne of local things to do, don't miss Tarra Bulga or grab a map of the Heesco Street Art and find them all. We'll be back ...

I stayed in the older style “Standard Queen”, the room was a little dated but it was clean and it had everything I needed. The room was good value and I knew what I had booked as the motels direct website clearly explains the different rooms and prices. They did have newer refurbished rooms but I chose the standard as I was on a budget. It’s an easy walk into Yarram town. Adrian the owner was very friendly.

The room was dated but appeared clean and tidy. Despite attractive advertisements on their site, no food is available, not even breakfast. We brought our own. There is nothing I can say to redeem the service here. Our towels were not changed during our entire 5 night stay and I watched the toilet slowly go mouldy during that time. Our bed was "pulled up" for the first 3 days resulting in the blankets dragging on the floor on my side. We made the beds ourselves. The "Lakes Coast Visitor Guide" was dated 2019 and the "Welcome to Tarra Motel" brochure was full of cross-outs in black Texta, even the previous owners names were still on it. I would not stay here again.

Response from Adrian Tilley, Owner at Tarra Yarram Motel
Responded 13 Mar 2022
Dear Evelyn, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your acknowledgement that the room was clean and tidy on arrival. We are disappointed that our level of service did not meet your expectation during your stay. We note that none of the issues you have raised in your review were communicated to us, and we welcome the opportunity to address these now. Our breakfast service was temporarily suspended during January 2022 due to a lack of resources, an issue facing many businesses in the hospitality industry during this time. We do have a breakfast delivery arrangement with a wonderful local café. There are plenty of quality food options in the main street of Yarram which is a short seven minute walk from the motel. The rooms of our guests who are staying for more than one night are serviced daily during their stay. Our cleaners are instructed to replace any towel that is not hanging up. We apologise that the toilet was not cleaned to your satisfaction during your stay, and the bed was not re-made to your satisfaction during your daily servicing. We encourage our guests to raise any issues that they have during their stay with us directly, in order that they can be quickly and effectively resolved. We are currently updating the guest information that is provided in the rooms, including the references to the previous owners who sold in September 2021 and apologise that the information provided during your stay did not meet your required standard. Our reception is staffed from 7am to 10pm and we are available during these times to answer any questions and provide any information that our guests require. We do not get everything right 100% of the time, and we always welcome feedback from our guests on how we can improve our offering. Please contact us directly if you would like to further discuss your experience, we would welcome the opportunity to hear your views on how we can improve our service.

Property looks good, well maintained. Friendly, helpful owner. Nice, clean room and ensuite. Bed very good. Wifi ok, parking in front of the room. Small outdoor pool, did not use it. Plenty birdlife in the trees around, how nice! Would definitely stay here again!

We rang last minute to stay two nights and owners were very accommodating in fitting us in. Great sized room that had everything we needed and was very neat and clean. Close to the Main Street, so easy to walk to shops. Perfect place to stay when exploring the surrounding ares.

Have stayed at this motel three times now and nothing much changes. It's clean and very comfortable and got everything you need. The furnishings are old and the bathroom is ancient, but if you don't need to have the newest of everything, then this place is the go. Close to town, easy access, free parking, economical.

We ended up in Yarram on our way to Melbourne and had no where booked. We checked out the local pub accomodation, my seven year told me he thought it was haunted and I think I agree, probably great for backpackers. We then drove up the street to the motel, my husband chacked out the motel and I went next door to the caravan park which had cabins advertised. Motel was $98 and cabin was $95 we thought a cabin woulf be a bit novel so paid and went to cabin. The cabin was a 1950's caravan with no wheels, ords can't desribe how disgusting the cabin was, I asked for a refund and then off the to motel. Given what we had just experienced I would have paid $103 more to stay here. Nice big room, clean bathroom swimming pool. Great motel in a great town

Yarram has very limited accommodation options and the Tarra Yarram Motel is best of the choices available.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms, facilities, decor etc are very dated but they are perfectly functional with comfortable beds and most importantly everything is clean. The rooms tend to be on the 'cosy' side, but if all you're doing is sleeping there you don't notice the cramped quarters so much. Tea and coffee are provided and fresh milk is available from reception as required.
The wifi is purchased from an outside company and connectivity is a bit hit and miss so beware!
The location of the Motel is within easy walking distance to the main street of Yarram and yet far enough away for it to be quiet in the evening.
Peter, the owner, is very welcoming, always smiling and happy to help or offer advice about local attractions or dining options.
All in all the Tarra Yarram Motel is a perfectly fine little motel to spend a night with obliging staff and comfortable lodgings.

Not impressed with service nor the cost of the constant cut out of wifi which you pay for ..
1 small cake of soap !! No shampoo or conditioner very old furnishings.
A nice fold on toilet paper would be nice rather than a tear from last guest.
Clean room but just pretty basic.
Owners need to learn to smile and know how to go the extra mile to get guests too return.
