Loved the place from the moment we drove in. Such lovely reception from Rod. Comfy rooms and lots of space to open up bags (a big deal if you’ve been in small Melbourne hotel rooms!) and Tracy at the bar was wonderful when we wanted to play a few extra games of pool. Would definitely come back again!

We stayed only one night but if we knew what a gem this place was, we would have booked another night! Spotlessly clean, scrumptious meals at the attached hotel bistro and friendly, welcoming staff! What more could tired travellers want! We will be back!

My husband and I recently enjoyed 4 nights at the Winchelsea Motel. We arrived a little early but even though they were busy cleaning after the long weekend, we were able to access our room. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. A large bathroom and period furnishings that gave the room an old world feel, in keeping with the facade and hotel. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed dinner in the tavern on 3 of of our nights and was really impressed with the quality of the food. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal with our compliments to the chef. We were in a great position to visit the Barwon Park Mansion, Colac and Lorne. Everywhere was within an easy drive. Within a short drive of Melbourne, it is a great spot to spend a quiet few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Pulled in for dinner as we were really hungry. The menu had a lot of choice, which sometimes replaces quality, but surprisingly it did not. Food was great and just what we needed- great quality and good sized portions. Looks unprepossessing, but definitely worth a visit.
