I am very easy to please and rarely complain. I was stunned by how awful this place is. The outside is very off putting. Lots of unsavoury characters hanging around the fronts of the units, strong smell of marijuana, lots of rubbish lying around. There was no one at reception when I arrived at 530pm (website says it is open to 930pm). Finally found the cleaner who knew nothing but just gave me a key to room, I was checking the lock and debating leaving, when I accidentally got shut out. Couldn’t find anyone so rang the motel phone number. It was answered by the Manager who was in another town, told me should try to get someone. I ended up ringing her a number of times over the next 2 hours and she just refused to help. She then suggested another tenant should climb on the roof and break in to the office for the key. She ended up abusing me. I had been approached by people looking for money, and started to feel unsafe. After 2 hours of being stuck outside I rang the police. They were horrified when they arrived, as had there been an emergency, no responsible person was contactable and in case of fire etc. the units could not be accessed. They finally tracked down the cleaner who gave them a key. I removed my belongings and left, refused to stay in the dump. By this stage there was another man in the same position of being locked out. The police will be following up. I do not know why this is advertised on Wotif, as it is clearly some other type of accomodation facility and not a decent motel.
I appreciate the rooms may not all have been as bad as the one I was shown to, the Magagemeng and general state of repair is disgusting.

Had a nice stay , but were accidently double-charged for our room. Contacted Cynthia at the Motel and she quickly fixed up the matter by crediting our credit card. Three cheers---will stay again if down that way.

Checked in on 24/9/22, there were no bathrobes or footspa as advertised. When I asked about this, I was told things often stolen from rooms. Immediately anxious. Expressed concern re proximity of male sitting at my bedroom window smoking and loud conversation, staff then tried to show me the neighboring guests’ phone number and text msgs to reassure me that they were ok and stayed all the time. Massive breach of privacy, made me further anxious re my own privacy. Left property immediately, requested cancellation and refund via Booking.com, who agreed with safety and privacy concern and told me to leave and return key. Hotel then called and assured me of refund, but then when I cancelled as they instructed, they refused the refund via Booking.com and lied re complaint, saying that I’d complained re the size of the king bed, with no mention of privacy breach etc.
Hotel staff were disrespectful of guests’ privacy, had terrible customer service manner, and we’re argumentative when I expressed that I was feeling unsafe. Upon cancelling, staff were outright dishonest so as to avoid paying refund (matter is now being escalated with Booking.com).
Under no circumstances stay here.

Our visit to the Edinburgh Motel was really good, no complaints about anything. As someone who used to be a housekeeper, I couldn't find any fault with how clean the rooms we had, was. The Manager, was very helpful and friendly. The room was right next to the road, and the traffic noise was almost non existent. Will definitely use this motel again.

This Motel/Motor Inn was absolutely awful.
The proximity to the road and railway line is not their fault, however I was concerned about the speed and noise of the traffic, which kept me awake, with the concern of whether or not a car might actually enter my room.
The room was dirty, I had a dirty stained bathmat, the floor had someone else hair and crap on the floor, the sink had someone else hair in it as well.
The carpet was just as putrid.
Being a non smoker the guys in the next two rooms smoking out the front continually filled my room with tobacco smoke let alone a beautiful display of underpants with accompanying beer and gasper!
I was then slightly unhinged to use their plates and cutlery so I found a pair of chopsticks I had to eat!
The staff were pleasant when available.
