We had travelled from the Rochdale near Manchester in the UK to meet and spend time with our daughter and partner and grandkids who live in Melbourne and also brother who lives in Perth. This is not our first time to Australia and not the first time we have been on road trips site seeing.

As a family there was four adults and two children, one aged 3 and one aged 6. We had decided to travel from Ormond in Melbourne and visit Wilson s Promontory but did not want to stay to near the promontory. So we decided that Toora would be a good destination and though many places were booked up we were lucky to get two rooms, ours being a double with single bed and my daughters having a double and two bunk beds plus one single, these were at the Tooralodge Motel. 4930 South Gippsland Toora, and we did not regret it one moment. Situated just near the town of Foster yet only a few miles away from Agnes falls (well worth a visit) Toora is in a rural green countryside, with large gardens its set back off the road so easy to miss if going fast but with plenty of space around it has a truly relaxed feel.

If you want a brand new state of the art Motel with all gadgets included then this is not for you, and, that is a good thing as here the motel was well established not new but nicely laid out, spotlessly clean and the rooms had all what you would expect from any motel of good standing.

The reception was manned by the nicest person I have ever met in a motel or hotel ever, nothing, and I mean nothing was to much trouble, with sensible and useful advice on the surrounding area, a wealth of knowledge and judging from previous reviews on the motel he is a man of consistency, to my shame I have forgotten his name, but please be assured like gusts before I know he will be able to offer you a warm welcome.

Prices. We stayed at the beginning of march for two days (two nights) a Friday and Saturday and it cost 600 dollars for all of us, we had expected at least 900 to 1200 elsewhere so this was exactly what we wanted yet with a high standard of service.

We intend to take the family back to the Toora Lodge motel when we come back at Christmas, though our daughter says she will be going before. Recommendation indeed.

Bob and Ann Morrisey. Manchester. United Kingdom

I have stayed here a couple of times when I was surveying whales during the migration season. I stayed in the Spa Room both times.
The room is very basic and tired but I'll be honest, it was perfect for my needs as I was tired after being out in a boat all day and all I wanted was to be warm, fed and to sleep.
It had a microwave (I heated up soup) but if you wanted, there were eateries a short drive away.
The bath was perfect for heating up after a day on the water and the bed was comfy. There was plenty of towels and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The price was extremely reasonable too.

It was in the middle of nowhere. Not very close to the center. We were advised by the reception people to have tea at Foster. There was a petrol station right in front of the motel though. Dog Tree was also quite near. We stayed in the Spa room, which was clean, spacious, and unlike some accommodation with spa, there was no time limit in using the spa. Internet wasn’t as strong, but this issue seems to be happening within Gippsland. We didn’t have good internet reception for 2 days. The reception people were friendly. We would surely recommend this accom to friends. Though there was a slight difference in Agoda’s “Final price” and the price charged in our credit card. I am not sure why. Other than that, it was a good accommodation if one wants to get away.

Toora lodge Motel in Toora, Gippsland Victoria is essentially a good country motel. Basic but clean and comfortable. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. We felt welcome. The area has much of interest we recommend it.

Spent a lovely relaxing night at Toora Lodge. Lyn and Pete were so lovely and helpful with a great knowledge of the surrounding area and local highlights. The room was clean and cosy and the spa was sensational! We will definitely stay again, wish we had stayed longer! Thank you Tooralodge!

This is an older motel with a retro look and feel but very clean with spacious rooms. We stayed in the spa room but did not use the spa. The room was clean with a comfy bed, and there was a small fridge and some plates and cutlery and I think there was a microwave too.
The shower was reasonable but you had to climb into the spa to use it - maybe not so good if you have stiff joints or anything. Also the free wifi is patchy. Better to rely on your phone.
The service was great. The owners are very friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. We stayed here so we could visit Wilson's Prom and, though it was a bit of a drive (about 45.- 50 mins one way), we were pretty pleased with our accomodation and also the meal recommendations we got from the owners. We ate very well in Toora/Welshpool during our stay. Would stay here again, no problems.

Lucky for us Tooralodge Motel had a cancellation this weekend, as we had a spontaneous two night stay. Yes the motel is older or retro, but it’s very clean.
Lovely owners Lyn and Pete are doing a great job keeping the garden a nice place to sit around at the end of the day for a quiet drink. So thank you 🙏 for your hospitality and would highly recommend a night or two staying in the pretty town of Toora. While we where there we did the day cruise to Wilson’s Prom from Port Welshpool, which was absolutely spectacular! Not far too.

Having moved into the area about a year ago, we happened to stumble upon this small country motel due to a chance in ownership. The new owners, a professional Indian chef and his Mexican wife, have taken over the motel and are serving up a great selection of traditional Indian and Mexican dishes in their small dining room. Don't let the decor hold you back, the food is worth it! Can't review the accommodation since we only live 20 minutes away, but definitely will be back for the food!
