We were very excited to see that as part of our anniversary we could stay at hotel sorrento post covid19 reopening. They were very accommodating and even gave us a free room upgrade and bottle of wine as a congratulations/thank you for supporting our reopening. Despite the fact they hadn't been open for months operations were very smooth and we had a lovely heritage room with incredible views from the balcony out to the bay. Because of restrictions we had a breakfast hamper given to our room and were able to get a booking at the restaurant downstairs for dinner. We booked direct through the website and got the 'Dine and Stay' package which was great value and included a $100 dinner voucher, breakfast and late check out. I'm not sure if this was just a special because of the reopening or if they normally do this package but would highly recommend. We were totally spoilt and very much appreciating the manager's warm welcome. Would highly recommend to others especially when they open up their newest section hopefully later this year.

Really solid experience. $250 per night might sound expensive, but in the middle of high season, and considering the amenity provided in the room, it was exactly the right price for us. Everything worked as it should - the plumbing, the lights, the air con, the fridge. The balcony provided a fabulous view, partially including the bay. The mattresses were a bit soft - pillow top style - which is a matter of personal preference. I don't see how the hotel can change that without upsetting some other guests.

I stayed for 3 nights with my daughter in what you might call peak summer school holiday time. The staff for very professional. This made the our stay. Room, floor and reception staff would go out of their way to give you a smile and always ready to assist. The Heritage room itself was awesome with the sand stone walls and quite spacious. The balcony was spacious and offered great views. But in the end those physical elements can be dialled in anywhere (for a price)...it's good people that can make the difference on a holiday - and Sorrento Management are to be congratulated on selecting and motivating good people to handle their customers to a high standard. Phoebe in particular stood out as a great front of house person, she was awesome.. Thanks all.

We booked for my girlfriends 30th birthday prior to our dinner we decided to grab some drinks from the bar. My partner ordered a Cocktail Carafe for 53 dollars and what we got was pictured below an esky with a side of OJ That just stretched 2 water glasses. We then went to make our booking when 10 young staff members greeted us at the door and not 1 could tell us where our booking was and we waited 10 minutes. Following this we ordered our meals and one of our guest were told to pick out the fresh chilli as it would be to difficult for the chefs to complete. Then our mains came to the table missing condiments from the satay chicken to the rubbery calamari without aioli. Then when guests went to the newly furnished bathrooms they were greeted with mould. Beautiful environment filled with young inexperienced staff who clearly want to cut corners, Sorrento Hotel its a marathon not a sprint good luck.

We stayed at this hotel twice during the past month. The location is great, the beds poor and the front desk appalling. Very condescending. We recently stayed three nights and were quoted $170 with breakfast. However, we were charged $50 for a standard breakfast, despite the fact that they are running a special of $270 per night, including breakfast and a $100 dinner credit, which we did not use. The math and integrity just don’t add up. The front desk manager was hostile and had no interest in resolving the issue. Julie in housekeeping was marvelous and bent over backwards with her service and hospitality.
The owner even helped us with our luggage, which was appreciated. He needs to improve the front desk radically.
There are many other places to stay close by.

Hi Jim, Thank you for your review. We apologise if you weren’t clear on the additional cost for breakfast. As outlined at check-in, we do offer our guests a discounted rate for breakfast at $25 per person which you decided to add to your room rate. Our staff did try to again reiterate this to you at check out, however, you were adamant in expressing your frustration online – which you have. We hope that you enjoyed all other aspects of your stay – and given you decided to return to stay with us twice in two weeks we assume that you did. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels. Kind regards, Management

Be mindful if booking this hotel, they claim to be a luxury hotel but it felt like the most budget hotel I’ve stayed in in a while!
The garden rooms are loud, you can hear all the music and people from the bar all evening. The floor plans doesn’t match the room, there are no bathtubs just a shower and no amenities such as body lotions etc.
The dinner was included and the food was good but we were placed right next to the bar with a constant running back and forth of people to the bar next to us, even though it was clearly lots of table free in the actual restaurant.
The breakfast was horrendous. It was one tiny yoghurt to share for two people and two pieces of toast. No dairy alternative, we didn’t eat any and went out for breakfast instead.
The locations is beautiful for think twice if you think you’re going away for a luxury stay!

We stayed at hotel Sorrento from 24th Dec until 28th Dec and was not worth the money.
Room was amazing with beautiful ocean views, was above the beer garden so room smelt like smoke when we arrived had to shut the windows wasnt a big deal though. Day we checked in someone from the hotel rang me to say there was lots of renovations and for the mess they had drink cards for us, never received them which is odd to call and tell us that then.
When we arrived we were told we would receive (as paid for) 2 gluten and dairy free breakfast baskets everyday. Day 1 we got 2 both not gluten or dairy free so we wouldn’t eat and went in the Bin, next day was Christmas Day and no breakfast arrived which the following day I told staff and they didn’t even care she said of yes we made a mistake, I also let her know about the gluten and dairy mix up, following day they got it right 2 GF and DF baskets, then on our final morning wrong again only 1 basket and not GF or DF so went in the bin again.
The worst thing about our stay was the beds. We both had terribly sore backs after sleeping in the beds and couldn’t walk or even put on our shoes properly. We also ate at the hotel and food was ok it’s basically pub food.
Staff were friendly but kinda in their own little world not too bothered to ‘work’. We will not be back.

Reception staff very friendly and obliging and late checkout appreciated.
Heritage room is beautiful with an expansive private balcony, views and very comfortable bed.
Bay window was adorable and good value minibar.
Being able to eat, drink and stay at one venue was great and location to other restaurants was also very convenient.

We were very much looking forward to our short stay at Hotel Sorrento and we wanted to love the experience but a number of niggling issues left us questioning the value for money. Heritage Balcony Room advertised as bay views when really was bay glimpses with 75% of view blocked by the adjacent accommodation block. No room servicing, lack of attention to detail, and the whole experience of having an additional $10 charge added prior to arrival with no logical explanation, left us feeling cold and under valued as guests

Though it is a large hotel, its layout means it is also comfortable and peaceful - at least our room was.
The location is excellent for trips around the area - Point Nepean, Heronswood House, Cape Schanck or just walking around the town and its beaches.
Restaurant food was good with a nice menu selection. Odd that food and drinks for guests need to be paid for and cannot be put on a room. Fortunately, I'd brought down my wallet to dinner!
Extensive buffet breakfast.
A very pleasant stay.
