Silverwater is in San Remo Victoria, a stone throw from the Phillip Island GP track. the beach is across the road, with bay views from some areas and rooms. Public areas are decent but it might have been na little while since the resort had a makeover. there is a restaurant on site but last orders are 8.30pm. Room service to the detahced 4-unit villas is by and uber-eats style bag. Drinks can also be ordered but must be bottled. either wine or beer (and cider perhaps ) can be had in room, but there is no in-room bar. the orders wil be brought to the room by staff. I ordered calamari, chicken parma, and a steamed pudding/berry/ice cream desert. The calamari was perfect, but chicken parma doesn't travel too well and as it get cooler, the cheese tends to harden. the desert was delicious. I also oredered some Coronas to wash it all down. Staff were delightful, helpful, and informative. the villas are in groups throughout the resort. the small 2 bedroom units would suit young familes, 2 couples, or 2 singles who like really big beds. There is a parking spot for each unit, but is not covered. The exterior door to the villa is not locked either. there is a small well eqipped kitchen but only one batroom. furniture feels on the cheap side, and i was not able to get the TV to show free to air channels. I watched a movie on my laptop instead. the bed was a king, and was comfortable (tyhe other room also had a king) and although the sheets and doona were decent, the pillows were cheap foam. power points in the bedroom were hidden behind the furntiure so is a bit hard to get to if you want to charge your phone (i only use my phone as a clock and alarm as i don't trust hotel units). Internet access is available, but i hotspot with my phone (optus 4G, not yet 5G) Rooms are not serviced daily, which is fair enough. What was not fair enough is that you can request a service, FROM $25 for linen or $40 for linen and tidy. I've travelled a lot and this is the first time i've seen a charge for servicing a room. Finally, if you're on the ground floor, you can hear people upstairs walking around.…
I reviewed this place in 2015 and didn't let the average experience then deter me from staying again. Big mistake. A lot of the suggestions from that review and from others since have not been acted upon. The apartment we had this time again had threadbare carpet (see the photos), had appliances that didn't work and was not clean (deja vu). Covid annot be used as an excuse as I would have thought during Covid times, the cleaning regime would be up to scratch, but we spent the first hour after check in with the Spray and Wipe removing the fingerprints and stains from the couch and other surfaces (you're welcome, whoever stays here next). The first time I tried to call reception re: the oven that was not working, I was on hold for 15 minutes before hanging up. They called back and said someone would drop by to have a look. One hour later, still nothing so I called back and waited again. Turns out the oven was not working, so plan B needed for the kids for dinner. My wife then tried 5 times (no exaggeration) to make a restaurant booking and could not get through. The following day we tried ordering room service for dinner and was told it would take more than 2 hours. We had to complain in person at the restaurant to get this wait time down to something more reasonable. Not sure if there is a lack of staff or budget but paying guests should not have to suffer. It's not like I got the apartments at a discounted rate but the condition they were in I should have. Unfortunately, the management here are probably used to the complaints and are a bit immune to them as I raised my concerns with the front desk but nothing was done. Probably also why they take your money in full 14 days prior to arrival so you can't use that as leverage. I have arranged a number of conferences here over the years and have stayed a number of times but will no longer be recommending this place to my friends, family or network. Not worth the risk as it is clearly hit or miss as others have mentioned in their reviews.…
My wife and I and a couple of friends had dinner at the Watermark Restaurant at Silverwater on Saturday 20 February 2021. Just wanted to again thank Sam for his great service and friendliness! Lovely food and drinks experience made better by Sam!
We stayed in a 2bedroom ocean view apartment. Whilst it’s not our first time and we knew what to expect this was some next level of shocking cleanliness especially with how much sanitising and cleaning is expected these days because of COVID. When we first checked in and go to the apartment there were cobwebs across the bedroom and we had to use a hanger to remove all the cobwebs but no fuss as spiders are pretty common. However, on our 2nd night our bedroom was infested with insects. My 3yo son woke up screaming and asking for help as there was insects crawling all over his pillow and blanket. It was so gross and disgusting! I quickly moved all our stuff out of the room into the living room and shut the door to the room. We have not opened the windows in the room or balcony door so the insects has gotten in through the corners of the windows. When told reception about it all I got was “oh I’m sorry we will have a look”. The pool was absolutely packed whilst we were there with a maximum capacity of 75 in the tiny indoor pool, murky water, heated air. Definitely not covid safe if you ask me. …
Enjoyed our stay at this Resort, very well set up apartments and pretty close to all the sites at Philip Island. Good amenities and loved the heated pool. We had a room with the garden/lawn view and super happy with their customer service especially Annie who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and made things easy while checking in and during our stay. Would highly recommend this place if you are looking at a comfortable stay away from the hustle and bustle. One piece of feedback would be to make sure the balconies are cleaned before a stay, but am sure that will be sorted soon,Overall amazing experience.
