We had a caravan site and the surrounds of the park are attractive with gumtrees, lake and walks but the amenities are in terrible condition and dirty. There were mice droppings everywhere in the camp kitchen and very few utensils available for use.
This park has received a wide variety of reviews, some quite negative. Not sure why. We have enjoyed our stay here. From initial online booking enquiry to being set up onsite. Staff happy to give sightseeing tips when asked. Beautiful outlook over the lake. A short walk into town.
Worst experience of my young families lives. Think again before staying here. We had to leave due to my daughter being unwell after the first night. No refund for the following 2 nights and absolutely no empathy from management.
We chose to stay at Rutherglen because of the distance we would have to travel from our current site. The park is nice but not the best one we have been in. Amenities are good and clean and pricing is good.
Shady, well located, park. A daily happy hour appeared to be enjoyed by campers. However, be aware, some sites are quite steep ( our drawbar was on the ground.) The hand sanitiser in the ladies was empty for THREE days. (Not COVID safe.) The mop bucket in the ladies was not changed/emptied for at least 3 days. The men’s urinal was not very sanitary. The grounds were generally poorly maintained e.g. mowing not a priority, trees suckering at base.
We really enjoyed our stay at this caravan park. We were surprised at how close it was to the centre of Rutherglen and the family loved the close proximity to the pool. It was lovely to eat our breakfast while overlooking the wetlands within the park boundary. We set up our own tent and the park manager allowed us to upgrade to a powered site with more shade. The showers and kitchen were very clean.
Another fun visit to a lovely, well cared for park. Nothing is is too much trouble for managers and the firepit each evening is a highlight. Thanks again and see you in November. Cabins were immaculate
On various trips we always stay here , Dennis and Lisa are down to earth and happy to help. And then there’s the happy hours 😂😂 short walk to the street for a sample of Parker’s pies 🥧👍👍👍 lake King next to the park is almost finished being redone and looks a treat
My husband and I stayed a night at this park on Wednesday. As newbies to the van world, we experienced a bit of a van drama on Thursday morning. The park staff were amazing, effortlessly helping us sort it out and getting us on the road. They could easily have laughed and left us to it, but they chose to help us out with no fuss attached. Thank you so very much. You have a lovely park, very clean facilities and great view of the wetlands.
This is a hidden gem...plenty of room for all types of van, mobile homes, tents, powered and unpowered sites and a very affordable price. Grassed and slab sites available good sized camp kitchen, clean amenities, and happy hour every day amongst the trees and lake with absolutely beautiful sunsets a great way to meet other campers and swap stories....owners who are very friendly join in and supply some munchies..Short walk to town and plenty to do, see and places to eat...surrounded by wineries guaranteed a good time ...I stayed for over a week and was sorry to leave ...peaceful, relaxing and just perfect ...I will return many times too good not to ..like I said a hidden gem.....Jewel
